  1. Are those "Bullet" horn caps in post #160 a production item or custom made? I think they are kool!

  2. That'd have to be one strong tree! But, we can't wait for you to decorate the Bush:D. How 'bout some pics now?

What is the story on the flat red wheel?

I found it on the evil place a few years ago. I've only seen 4 like it in my life, one black, one plain red, one larger white one (in the SWC Willys now) and my red flake one. The plain red was on a 40 Ford coupe I saw a couple years ago at a show. The owner told me he bought it at Advance Store about 35 years ago and it had been on the same car since he bought it.

Anyone know who made the wheels with only two holes in the spokes?

  7. Hey Groucho, I checked out the tree I am going to use today and it is a good strong blue spruce, should hold the wheels, I figure I will put the gold one on the top when I get to decorating around here. It is a good size, maybe 25 footer, I may hang some cool valve covers on there too to fill up some space as I do not have enough wheels to go all around, only 20 or so but maybe some kind and generous Hambers would like to donate their wheels to the cause.:D. Pics now... not gonna happen, family, 4 children, farm, my job, overtime and my cars and Ravens football take priority. ;):).

  8. In the time you wrote this, couldn't you have just as well posted a picture?

Grant has a similar chrome bullet horn button for less than $10. Check your local Autozone or wherever you buy your Grant hub adapter.

  10. Should be a Covico - I've got a rare, small diameter (12 3/4"), 2 hole orange one - didn't know they made them in metalflake though.

  11. Since you are so persistent, when I do get the wheels out and do the tree picture I will send you an autographed copy:eek:. Until then I am off this thread.

  12. the one I'm going to run in my avatar GMC isn't metalflake it's not even round 14 1/2 high and 17 inches wide. came off a 1959 DeSoto and it was free.
I call it a Gentlemans wheel, it gives the ladies a little more head room.;)

....this is a great thread. Who's got any large diam [14-15"] flat/no-dish wheels they'd consider partin' with? Lookin' specifically for a copper/org one but will consider others.....oh, I've now got red & org [dished] ones, couple nice flat wood ones as well.
PM or e-mail me lastg-man@hotmail.com thnx, Ed

  16. Awesome, thanks....:)

This one is 16 1/2 inch with a 3 inch depth, early Covico maybe

The bullet is one of those generic 3" diameter bullets that are usually sold as hub covers.

Ive checked Speedway and they have 9 3/4 'wheels in stock now for 50 bucks. I might think gettin one if they ship international.

  19. BoneZ, the little one's a 10" that someone painted. But, not for sale. Sorry

  20. edsel, it's gold plastic with silver flecks. the metal flake is all flake and not clear. I'm not embarassed that I can't afford a real one. stuff like this has kept the cost of my truck build under $1500
bring your wheel and some of your purple paint over, I have some flake and diamond dust that will make you real happy for cheap.

I checked out the new Moon wheels at their booth at the CHRR today and they look pretty sweet. I have one of their old blue 'flake wheels and the quality isn't even close to the new ones.

Unfortunately they were out of red ones.

Can anyone confirm what this one is? Had it ages and always just assumed it was a Grant until i saw this thread and how many manufacturers of similar wheels there seems to have been.

Glad i'm not the only one with a fake wheel on my golf cart. Its maroon and came out of a very rusty 55 chevy two door wagon with a muncie 4 speed and what was left of a 327 that had been last registered in 1983.
Only pic i have right now is this one.

I also have a green one on my sedan delivery.
    Better pics to follow.

This is Moon's old 15" wheel. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but the chrome on the new wheel is a lot nicer
