I didn't think about it until last night but I've got several big neon 1940's and 1950's motel signs that would have made neat back drops. I've also got a real 1940's and also a 1961 bowling alley setup that would be cool if you guys ever want to use those as a display.

Well its 6 am on Sunday morning and I cannot sleep...Just too excited about another day at the show. Special Thanks to Tom, Naomi, John, Dustin, Yancey and ALL of the members of the Road Rockets car club for another great year. I have taken a few pix and added to my album here. Some are a little blurred (must have had a little too much caffiene today and did not hold the camera still...sorry)
I have added owners names to captions. Hope you enjoy...

I have about 900 shots, including as many name cards as I could find..
    so about 750 pictures..

I promised first refusal to "Punk" at Hometown...becaue he could not make it..and asked me to cover it for him...

As soon as he reviews them, I'll post ..

Great Show, The Road Rockets were great hosts...Naiomi, Thom and John Cooper went out of there way to make sure I had access to all the vehicles..
Hopefully "Punk" will give it good coverage in the HHRM...

    Thanks for understanding guys...
    What a great show...Thanks...

Thank you all for comming to the Motorama, it was a great success.
Hopefully someone can post some pics up soon. Tierod, I understand your position as well as many others... But I will raise my hand and admit I didn't take any pics, sorry. Too busy having a great time talking and conversing with everyone.
We hope moveout was pretty painless for those who attended. I know I was running all around town on the interstates tonight giving some of the guys a ride getting their cars home. Four guys in a chopped Desoto while there were snow flurries comming down... priceless.
    Thanks again.

I had a great time at the Motorrama. Super people and beautiful cars. What really made my day was when Tom told me about the drags at Muncie on May 30th. I had no problem getting out of the building after the show was over. Thanks to the Road Rockets for an excellent show.It keeps getting better every year!

  16. We made it down there for a couple of hours on Saturday. GREAT show... you guys all did an awesome job. Thanks so much for being a highlight in the middle of a loooong winter. Well worth the drive.

You guys should all be very proud!

Hey Dustin, what did you do to your roof? Is that just metal finished? When did you chop it?

No complaints at all about moveout. We were at the far end (by the stage), I had the Roadster out within 10 minutes of doors going up. I love the way the Road Rockets members all line up by the overhead door to thank everyone as they head out...too cool guys:) Again, Great Job!
Of course, it was 10:30 before I got back to the show, picked up the dragster and got it home.
Hey Merc Deuce Man...my offer still stands, if you want to see the Roadster, Dragster and Mercury next year, I really need a sponsorship for a semi-driver and trailer:)
Just Kidding...We will see what we can do to get the Ardun there next year.

Well it was another great year at the Motorama 1962. I want to say thanks to the Road Rockets for putting on a great event. It was again the hit of the show. Also a special thank you to Bill Bronson for "Bronson Memorial Award". Bill's late father 'Larry" was a good friend of mine and the award means a lot to me. I have said to other people that I am so proud of Bill for maintaining his father's and grandfather's cars and keeping the history going. I am sure his father, mother and grandfather are very proud of him just like we are.

Yea, Tom Culbertson and I chopped the Desoto 3". Started on it Thanksgiving weekend and finished it the night before the Motorama. I did sand the top down to bare metal and buffed it, then cleared it. We didn't have to cut the roof skin itself. The back windows still go up and down as well and got all the inside garnish moldings chromed.
I'll put a seperate thread up on the project sometime this week when I can get all my pics together.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone on the show, much appreciated :D:D:D:D.

Steve, Thank you for the kind words. I know your friendship meant alot to Dad.

As I have stated before, I was brought up by parents who loved this hobby and its people and took me to all of the shows growing up. In doing so, I have grew to love it as well. (In other words, take a kid to a car show...you just don't know what kind of influence you might have on them.)
