I never thought to take any photos of it there, duh. Probably won't be able to go get it for about a week, so no pics til then.

Yes it would, although the original ring and pinion are in the trunk. The 400TH is fresh with a shift kit, so it's good, it just is missing 4th gear... ;)

just a ring and pinion or a whole drop out center section (pumpkin)? if it has the whole pumpkin it would be an easy change

I believe just the gears. Not ideal, and, to run it as is I'm depending his having it set up right. Might be better to simply get another pumpkin. It's only money.

Right? I have to say it looks good with it's current stance. I'm not, and really never have been, into drag racing, but this car looks GOOD raised up a bit. Maybe it needs air suspension...

I'm after more of a highway cruiser, than stoplight bruiser.

My 62 has a 3.36 rear gear. It's a good ratio for highway cruising with a 3-speed but it's not an 85 mph cruise ratio.

That car looks like a big bad *** bully. And I like it.
    I was 5 years old in 1962.
When I think back to some of the rumbly cars I saw and liked as a kid, yours fits exactly.
I got tired a long time ago of all the extremely low cars. And trucks even. Unless they're actually customs, if it's a modified car with some oomph, I like 'em jacked up just a little bit. Just a tad. Mostly level.
Doesn't have to be a drag car per se. Just a tough street car.

    Bonus:
You'll never have trouble with steep driveways and speed bumps. Your oil pan is safe LOL.

It's official. Check given, got the ***le! Now just have to get it here, just in time to store it for the winter. If we hadn't already planned to have the roadster in Florida this winter, I'd take it down. Oh well, that'll give me inspiration to do whatever I have to do to it next season. I'm excited!

I like it better lowered, but then my '62 is lowered. It's a cool car, interested to see what you eventually do with it!

Only thing I’d do is throw some cast Americans or some swap meet vintage wheels up front…and do exactly what you were doing in that video..

maybe some vintage speed equipment decals on the vent windows…Jenkins compe***ion would be a nice nod to grump…

He said when he had it up in the air to change the springs, he was shocked to see the drain plug on the oil pan was so ground flat he had to grab the flange with vice grips to get it off.

Everything looks good with 5 spoke Americans. That may happen.

    "... drain plug ground flat..."

Too many people never learned the lesson about ride height that Ozzie taught Ricky and his friends.

It's home! Fetched it home tonight, I'm glad we took the trailer as it started raining on the way, and the car hasn't really been driven for 20 years other than around the block. I REALLY like it, and Kim likes it too, which is a big plus. Tomorrow I'll unload it, make an appointment at the Sec. of State to transfer the ***le and get plates. I'll sort through the boxes of parts in the trunk and figure out what I want to do. Now that it's home, I'm leaning a bit more towards painting the entire car. The paint is good but not great, I don't really care for the color, it's not the original, the front fenders don't match and the p***enger door has some door dings that I'd rather not see. I like the aqua and cream I'd painted the '62 I did for our son a few years ago, so that might get the nod. The suspension is staying as-is, I kinda like the stance now that it's mine. The big block snarls like a demon, it'll be fun, and while the 4.11's make it a stoplight terror, the original 3.36's (or 3.26's, I can't remember what he said they are) are going back in. So, I'm ready to see the USA in my Chevrolet!

It needs some chrome Wheel Bands [and a hitch] Then drive the wheels off it touring the country.

Confession time!!! Did you ask for Kim's permission or forgiveness?? :D

Edit: If it does ever get painted, these will be the colors. I REALLY liked the look of this one.
