Folks Of Interest Ohio George has passed

Did not see it posted on here. Was checking out some stuff on Facebook tonight and seen it posted on several different Gasser sites. Back when I was in 7th grade un 1967 other guys heroes were Bart Star and Mickey Mantle. Mine were Doug Cook, Big John and Ohio George. May they all be resting in peace. Larry

 

Really sad to hear this morning of Ohio George Montgomery's passing. Back well before I could even drive a car legally George and his '33 Willys was my favorite car and driver. I used to spend my allowance on Drag News, just to see results for any drags he'd attended, and how his Willys did.
His cars made a deep impression on my lifelong affection for Gassers.

 

I have said it before, he was the one that got me interested in the drag racing sport at a young age.
