I wish I had found this thread before you guys went. It sounds like you guys had a great time. I just love walking through junk yards. It's so peaceful and you get to see a lot of neat stuff. Was there any '64 Chevys? From Curly's pictures there doesn't to have been any. Thanks for the pics.
6 to 10 of 'em but they looked like a turkey on the day after Thanksgiving...picked over and not enough meat for a stinkin' sandwich! 2 doors, 4 doors, & wagons they were there!
i saw a possibly decent hood, but it had the characteristic rust around the front where the lip chrome goes. it might be savable. now the hood i have in the barn, she's SOLID
[ QUOTE ] characteristic rust around the front where the lip chrome goes. it might be savable. now the hood i have in the barn, she's SOLID [/ QUOTE ] When mine was in storage the mice had the time of their lives in the car. They ended up making one of their many nests up in the hood above the latch post. As a result the nest collected moisture and created a nice bunch of rust holes in the front of the hood. Then there's the characteristic rust that you speak of. Damn mice! So. now I either look for a good hood or have a good welder fix the hood. Where did you find the solid hood? There used to be this really cool junk yard off of Rt. 22 between Lancaster and Zanesville. A long time ago I got a lot of neat parts there. I wonder if it's still there and still has all that neat stuff?
a dude at the superchevy show spotted me carrying the bumper fill panels and offered his hood for sale. ****er is PERFECT, got it for 200 with a set of SBC full length headers for an x frane GM car. those are kinda hard to find. never saw that yard between zville and lancaster, it's probably closed. i gotta head down there and see sometime...
