Has anyone noticed that the "oil eater oil change boxes" shrunk ?
I usually buy these in bulk from Costco and never had a problem till recently. Used twice recently and every time oil will fill the box then pour out all over the floor. Might cost cutting by shrinking the box to cut production cost. Just a heads up so you dont have oil pour all over your floor. I did notice the NAPA boxes are larger in size and don't have this issue

Maybe they make different sizes, and Costco can order larger ones for you? Modern cars, especially imports with smaller engines, would't require as large a "box", so sales are more geared that direction. Just a thought. Butch/56sedandelivery.

Only one size is made. It printed on the box "holds 5 quarts" but that a stretch. I never had this problem before until recently. Box looks smaller. Napa box is definitely is larger and it says "holds 5 quarts" I suspect its cost cutting no different than these chain burger joints making smaller burgers but keeping the price the same. I would not buy these boxes unless you like cleaning up oil from the floor

  5. The traditional way is to dig a hole out back and pour it in. I however am far more green, I save it and use it to burn slash piles thereby increasing my carbon footprint.....................gotta make your mark ;)

  6. Sorry, I gotta ask..... What,s a "oil eater"?

So what are you supposed to do with this box of used oil? Landfill, or recycle? Is it so hard to drain oil into a pan, pour it into an anti-freeze jug, milk jug, or some other plastic container, and haul it back to the auto parts store of your choice for recycling?

  13. I'm with you on that one. I'd rather have a real drain pan. Half of my stuff hold more than five anyways.....

Draining OIL into a BOX, sounds like something the THREE STOOGES would likely do.
