I have a stock 1937 ford flathead and would like to add byp*** oil filter to it. What is the easiest way to do it when the car is already ***embled and I’m not taking the engine out for it? I wonder if there is enough pressure in the back of the engine where the oil pressure sender is. Can I use it as inlet and make outlet to the oil pan? Will it work at all, or should I just forget the oil filtration and change oil frequently?

At least in 1949 mercury flathead the oil flows from back of the engine to the ”oilpan”. More precisely to the side of the block. And the inlet is in the side of the filter with sender unit. In beehive filter which I have the inlet is in the bottom of the filter. That made me think if I have misunderstood the oil flow direction.

I’m planning to add a inlet from filter to block to the dipstick tube.

I think I figured it out. There must be oil pressure in oil sender unit, so I will make line in to filter from the sender horizontal output and line out from filter to dipstick tube.

I just did my 8BA and it had a boss in the rear of the block just below the OP xmeter.
You may need to add a tee under the OP xmeter, should add a restriction orifice in the pressure line to the filter, best would be right at the engine.
    I found mine on eBay
The return should be easy peasy

I think I got the correct restriction orifice from mercury flathead.
Thanks for the drawing, is it a full flow system?

Don't forget to put a restrictor in the line to the filter. I think something like.050"
Ford used a special fitting if you can find one.

Or you can make your own restriction by soldering the end of fitting and drilling correct size hole

    No, it's not full flow.
