Can anyone tell me how I connect the oil supply and oil filter to a French flat V8 engine after removing the French accessories, such as the hour meter, etc.?

I'm also confused by the opening for the valve train, in the rear left corner. Does it stay open?

Removing the governor bump off the back of the block is your first step to clean up the block both for appearance and firewall clearance. I tapped the extra hole for a Allen head pipe plug and tidied up the area with a little J B Weld. When I was done there was no sign of the bump, everything looked factory. I was a bit nervous doing the first one as I could see my inexperience screwing up an expensive block. I've since done a total of 4 and they've all worked fine. I don't run a filter, just change oil about every 1K miles. Sorry I can't post pictures

How is the governor drive driven? Off of the cam? If so couldn't it be used to drive a cable drive tach? Like an old SW one.
