Oil Pump Locator on Chevy 235

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HillBillytheKid, Jun 17, 2008.

  1. Hello all.

I'm trying to figure out exactly how the oil pump is located on the 235. I'm specifically asking what goes into the oil pump housing in the indentation along the shaft part.

    Thanks in advance,

    Will

If you pull off the oil pan, you will see a locking bolt and nut. The bolt goes into that divit on the side of the oil pump shaft housing. Do not over tighten it, or you may end up trashing the cam/dizzy gears...

Unfortunately I pulled it apart a long time ago...7 years I think. I'm missing those pieces, as far as I know - but you got me started, thank you. You don't happen to have a pic of the bolt and nut do you?

AAAGH sorry, forgot to log in under my account.
