Oil Pump Pick up Hitting pan

Hi, I have the oil pan kit from Jamco suspension for a sbc in a 49-50 ford. I installed the oil pump pick up with the drill and tap bracket too. I started up my engine and the pick up taps against the the bottom of the oil pan. Any body else have this problem? Any suggestions on an easy fix? Thanks

 

when I built stock car engines with a variety of oil pickups I always used a spacer on the pickup tube and set the pan on when in engine stand and checked for clearance before mounting the pickup permantely
so you can check your clearance someway and bend something to make it clear, this is a cut and bend and weld world you are playing in

 

Bend it up. slightly.... you want it low as possible
