Has anyone used Speedmaster products? I need and oil pump for my small block project and always ran the HV77 Melling pump or TRW. Speedmaster has one much cheaper but I never heard of them.

Speedmaster is an Australian supplier. If the pumps are made there it's probably good stuff, but if they're imported from you know where it would be better to stick to the brands you know.

TRW - never had an issue with at least 40 sbc's, that's worth a few extra bucks to me.
Nothing against speedmaster, oil pumps are just a pain in the ass to change if you drop the engine in and there's a problem. I don't wanna think twice about them once the pan goes on.

The Milodon is just a beefier casting I used to use the standard Mellings but after they changed the castings and I remembered reading about failures both here and other forums. I tried the Milodon, it was a nice piece but required the longer big block style pump stud due to the thicker base casting.
Here is a link to the thread about the Melling casting changes.
