On stock flathead the two senders are connected and should produce identical pressure reading. That area gets messed with on common mods to use a filter in the main line of flow, but I believe the common mods are downstream from there.

I am new member. After reading an old thread on Flathead oil sender replace (April 2014) by Bruce Lancaster I used the information to solve my oil sender problem.
My project is a '53 convert that got a nice engine rebuild recently. After engine install and rewire of the dash discovered oil sender was dead. Had considered several desperate measures at replacement, none of them good, even possible engine pull for access. After seeing the post by Bruce that suggested building a tool from a 9/16" wrench (14mm HF actually fit better) the light bulb on my head lit. I won't say the job of removal/installation with my new tool was easy but it was possible & new sender works! Any size bolt can be used on the top and lock washers keep the bolt from turning thus avoiding firing of the MIG.
