Event Coverage Oilers CC Present: "Race of Gentlemen"

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Dirtyest Devil, Jul 18, 2012.

  1. Texas Speed , we have a location in Texas. Working on details now. This crap takes time. I'm busy trying to get some stuff in Jersey to stick.

I might skip a run in May. Most likely. We had two dates in two different cities lined up and they have fallen through. Running out of time to promote correctly. Racing has to happen before or after beach season. Memorial to Labor Day. So we are running out if time in spring. Count on October for sure.

I am trying to do a summer show. But the town gent I'm dealing with is in the hospital. So I'm pending. An all new show. If it works, it will be the best fun on two and four wheels!!! Stay tuned...

Mel, I got an idea for an event that was a past event here in Morris County back in the day that took place on Snake Hill Rd in Rockaway Twp. Im still doing research... Its still a dirt road and Im told they used to do timed runs on it in hot rods.. Will give you details as I find out more info.. Could be a cool event in the modern day.

  8. I was working on my indian yesterday when my buddy whom stops every day shows up with my mail in his hand. And a six pack of cold beers!

What is he holding besides delicious high alcohol content beers? My advanced copy of The Rodders Journal.

For once, I've got the jump on you paperback collectors. All I can say is wow!!!

Thank you Curt Iseli and Mr. Steve Coonan. You made a dream come true.

Thank you to all the photographers that helped contribute too. See you in October for the second annual.

I found and retrieved a recipient for the Salt Flats engine I bought a while back. 1931 Roadster Deluxe with a rumble seat. As luck would have it, there is already has a B block in it. Now I just need to get it ready for the RoG.....

    Thoughts:

Needs to be lower. T spring in the rear 3" drop axle in the front
    Leave the fenders
Needs 7.50 ww tires in rear, 5.50 ww in front - going to run '34 17" wire rims
    Chop the top a bit?
Burns Dual carb intake with 81's
Unknown manufacturer dual exhaust (pic) with cutouts and side exhaust

    I liked Mel's idea for a "gentlemen's car"

    Any other ideas out there?

I've already been thrashed over there before! Only so much time in this life, I'd rather be productive!

Can anyone identify the exhaust manufacturer in the 4th pic? Dual exhaust looks to be a cast mandfold.

The manufacturer was the farmer that did it. That's a home built Dual Exhaust.

I bet Bill (BCCHOPIT) will be showing you an example here in a few minutes! He built a nice one.

    Thanks Elrod.....
That looks like some one took the hard way of making the manifold.

I am not the 1st to do it this way but this is what I made up for the Dust Bowl

Your picture is hard to see the exhaust manifold, but I think I see welds at the top of the center down turn and on the flanges.... If not, that's pretty neat.

Whats News Mel? i ran into mike ( the ex State trooper withe the Munsters tattoos), he said the beach towns and other were all trying to get your gig into their towns. My Girl is actually asking about a May 4th event ( she stays out of my shop and cars generally, weird, right?)

I'm getting my B powered miller OHV 31 roadster together.... thinking paddle tires...sand....
