    Slayer - Angel of Death

    or

    Europe - the Final Countdown

    We're leaving together
    But still it's farewell
    And maybe we'll come back
    To earth, who can tell
I guess there is no one to blame
    We're leaving ground (leaving ground)
Will things ever be the same again
    It's the final countdown...
    The final countdown
    Ooh oh

    We're heading for Venus (Venus)
    And still we stand tall
    Cause maybe they've seen us
    And welcome us all (yeah)
With so many light years to go
And things to be found (to be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so
    It's the final countdown...
    The final countdown
The final countdown (the final countdown)
    Ooh ooh oh

    (interlude)

    The final countdown
    Ooh oh
    I'ts the final countdown
    The final countdown
The final countdown (the final countdown)
    Ooh
    It's the final countdown
    We are leaving together
    The final countdown

I was just kidding about Europe. I just hope that I got those awful fuckin keyboard notes stuck in someones head.

What a kick ass post.... I've found more cool stuff to listen to on here than anywhere else.

I'll have to say the Mad Fabricators Soundtrack... seriously. It's been the only thing I've been listening to in my car for weeks.

I really like to cruise to Right Said Freds "Im too Sexy" when I am alone, really puts me in a hot rod groove.

"Relax, don't do it" or whatever it is by Frankie Goes to Hollywood really screams I am a hot rod juvie...so Revhead, Will, and I listen to that when we take out the bitching camaro.

MarkX likes "It's raining men" and Bass likes "In the Navy" by the Village People so I have really been trying to give that stuff a fair shake but Im not getting it for some reason.

Buzzard told me anything off Lead Zepplin 4 will get me chicks so I like that one also.

    Krupa turned me onto "Freebird."

Elrod and I like to cruise to anything by M...I love that "Pop Music" song.

Tyler, Phil, and I like to climb into the family truckster and listen to Billy Thorpes fab concept album "Children of the Sun" from start to finish...I love drum solos and the sound of wind when you drive.

When I roll with Honest its nothing but gangstar rap for us...I like to jam on the road to tuff stuff like Vanilla Ice, Snow, and any other frosty white guy gangster rapper.

K&R and I like to listen to Aha when we go looking for races...nothing screams tire burning action like "Take on me!"

My radio doesn't work ( really don't need it) but the cassette does. I run an adapter to a MP3 walkman. It's nice to carry one CD with 150 to 300 songs on it and listen to something by Southern Culture on the Skids, Dale Watson, Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, Allison Moorer, Rev HH, Junior Brown and Deke Dickerson.
Voodoo Cadillac, Dirt Track Date, Freedom Machine and Truckin Man stand out.

  10. For road cruisin:
anythang by Delbert McClinton; Hott Leggs...Rod Stewart; brand new car...Stones
house is rockin'...Stevie Ray Vaughn; Vehicle...Ides of March; Slowdown...Beatles; Keep yer hanz to yourself...Georgia Satellites; La Grange...ZZTop; Back in the USA, Little Queenie, and Nadine...Chuck Berry; You really got me...Kinks; Tobacco Road...Nashville teens; Tumblin' Dice...Stones; Revolution...Beatles, and any thing by the Rev.
For the slow, late nite boulevard cruisin' or parkin' lot cruisin', its stuff like Harlem Nocturne by Danny Gatton, Riviera Paradise by Stevie Ray, Summertime by any good blues band, Rebecca Rebecca (the live version) by Delbert McClinton, and anything with a haunting, big, echo- chambered sax in it; and slow...sad... grinding blues...thats what does it for me....
now....if my coupe just had a cd player... [IMG]

    Okay,
For a Rod, anything that has a nice, twangy sound and a good, even beat and flow (like the sound a well-tuned flathead makes) works. For a Kustom, some good old fashioned lounge music will do, and for a full on 60's early 70's muscle car goes, Led Zepplin, ZZ Top and the like.

Sacrilidge! Mike Love's voice absolutely defines summer to me. I Get Around is my favorite, but any of the pre-Pet Sounds stuff makes good cruising music in the daytime. Some of the slower doo-wop (ie; Earth Angel by the Penguins, etc.) makes for good sunset/after dark cruising.

Funny how many on here still go for Doo-Wop. When I was a kid in Philly, my neighbor was one of the regular dancers on Bandstand. Guess it stuck with me. And look what it did for Dick Clark. Talk about the fountain of youth... [IMG]

Nothing funny about it Joe, Good music lasts. [IMG]

The Cadillac’s, Five Keys, Hollywood Flames, Drifters (the real Drifters with Clyde McFatter) Dominos, Five Royals etc etc...
The all get played around my garage.

I've been on a real Platters kick lately; I can't get enough of Tony Williams singing!

  28. Savoy Brown "Jack the Toad" the whole damned album.
There's a bunch of other chit but that one is probably my favorite.
Curtise Fuller "Cabin in the Sky" or "Satin Doll" are good when I'm feeling really Low Brow. Ya just can't beat Fusion Jazz on the long trip.
