What was the name of the street racing flick starring (I think) Richard Greico who plays a Jersey street racer who had a '69 Mach I? It was ok.

During a visit to a prop warehouse in Hollywood, when I was involved in the motion picutre business, I noticed in the corner what seemed to be a hot rod body mold. 15 yrs. or so ago, a movie was make with the "Monster_T" in it. I bought the mold, but am still trying to find out the name of the movie. The body is stretched 18", widened 12" deepened 8' and channeled 7". It has a separate 3' x 4' bed mold and floor mold.

You need to read more of these threads Junkyard Jan passed away about a year ago!

  6. Looks like Gumby is a Y-block guy too. ;)

  7. I'm 61 and started high school in 1962, American Graffiti is about as dead nuts on as any movie can be. The atmosphere of going off to college or Viet Nam or just plain not knowing what you were going to do was just how it was. Even my kids love that movie!! Hollywood Knights was really good but I think a little overdone, the cars were great but believe me no one had a car like Project X or the Rail Job right out of high school. That said my all time favorite movie is Rebel Without A Cause. Shot in the 50s so period perfect, not alot of cars but what there was great

  8. You are right on, that was done perfect.

  9. I'm pretty sure you did'nt sway anyones opinion!

  10. Poor Junkyard Jan, this thread will haunt her for years even after she has left us.

I agree with you. I am not so sure that Hollywood Knight was made to be dead nuts period correct. I think it was just a comedy set in the day and featuring cars. Great movie but I see what your point is. American Graffiti is more correct.

What's believable about Greased Lightning or Mad Max movie who ever thinks a blower on a switch will work has got to be in kindergarten

  13. Hey, I remember that movie! Cheesy made for TV stuff but, great race scenes. The car in that movie is exactly what all fast back Mustangs should look like.

As for Junkyard Jan, I'm sure she looks down and smiles every time someone replies to her post here. I hope I can find a way to still argue with people after I'm gone:)

  14. I wonder if anyone here realizes that the scene in Hollywood Knights where Danza races the Cobra and you see the smoke from the open hood, that they actually blew the motor

"Mystery Date" featured a beautiful baby blue '59 Desoto convert.

"Madison", although not a car movie was about the early days of unlimited boat racing. The Madison boat was old and needed repair for an upcoming race so they stole the engine out of a P-51 Mustang on display in a nearby town. At the end was a wonderful staged race featuring many restored old hydros.

AG was the tops and reminded me of some of my good times in the early sixties..such as tossing a cherry bomb in the open door to the police station one warm summer night.

Go to my album AZCOWBO and see if you can identify the movie the "Monster-T" appeared. I own the mold, but can't find a sole, that knows what movie it was in.

Barry Newman and Vanishing Point was pretty cool. A protest movie with a naked chick on a motorcycle, lots of dope and good music. Barry knows how to destroy a dodge!

  23. I think that Hot Rod is one of the finest car movies out there... a little lame on acting but great in old drag racing. I about got sick when he rolled the old super stock.

  24. That's the one. It was on Mystery Science Theater 3000:D

I saw a clip of a movie once.Nick Nolte was hitch hiking ,and a black plymouth fury stopped . The driver opened the trunk ,and it was full of chickens. Then the driver pulled out a gun and started shooting at the chickens .strange but very funny.Does anyone know the name of that movie?

Speaking of Dukes of Hazard..The original concept was to be a movie titled "The Hazard Brothers" And in the movie they weren't the good guys, they were jerk offs who like fast cars, fast women, and messing with the cops.... Guess someone didn't like that script....

    Love that car of Tomiko's...

  28. You are mistaken, that was Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, with Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges, not Nick Nolte. The guy driving the Fury was Bill McKinney; he was also the constable in The Gauntlet, as well as acting in many other Eastwood films, and the hillbilly in notorious Ned Beatty scene in Deliverence.
