Mine has the Corvette C3 front suspension, which is a rack and pinion, so hopefully it alleviates the issue.

Well, that ought to solve some problems! Those Kugel manifolds are great! They actually are way better than the originals! They added extra iron in places where the originals were weak, like around the flanges!

They are pricey, but when you build an FE, you have to just pony up and pay the man.

  4. Yeah, I'm still acquiring parts for my stroker (down to the last of them) and it ain't been cheap... but I decided I wasn't going to try to cut any corners when it comes to reliability. Like they say... fast, cheap, reliable... pick two...

If you haven't already found them, Precision Oil Pumps has a bunch of FE stuff of interest. I'm looking at their valve train parts.

I have their rocker shaft end stands. Very high quality, will buy more parts from them for my next FE.

I have been collecting parts for my final build, a 462, for years. I plan on building it and putting it in my avatar car! I have the good 428 donor engine, long tube cast iron ‘65 up exhaust manifolds, three duces set up, bought a piece at a time! I bought the I bought the intake many years before I bought the car! I just have a thing about 3 ducks! I have also recently acquired a set of CJ heads and aluminum intake, plus cast aluminum valve covers. I have about six C-6s , including a CJ C-6 , to build. Several N case nine inch rear ends. Just have to drop the big one on the stroker kit! But I’m so far behind on “ have to” projects…I may never get to this “ want to” project!

    Bones,
Those exhaust manifolds are better than money in the bank as far as I'm concerned!

Yes, um! It took me many years to find them! I had to sell my Columbia rear end, that I had for twenty years and did nothing with it, to a guy in Australia, I had to haul it Indianapolis, Indiana on Memorial Day, then use that money and one manifold, I bought at Beavers Springs , Pennsylvania, years before, to buy the manifolds in Illinois. It was quite a deal….but fun and a road trip! IMG_0508.jpeg

I bought some FE junk today. Norwell talked me into it. He's a bad influence.

I have been looking for a set of those valve covers, can't find any up here. Don't have to be chrome.
I did some FE work today, I pulled a 428 SCJ apart to make sure it was SCJ and it was!

Here is a set of valve covers I picked
up cheap the other day. Went to buy an antique screen door and started talking to the guy, cars came up and he said “ I have something you need”. Deal done.
