Here's a link that should help: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124153&highlight=subrail Scroll towards the bottom of the first page. It's a really clean simple way to go about it. Granted, it's a sedan, but same idea. Hope this helps Dan
Just got finished doing my tudor and a friends pickup. If i were you i would start by figuring out how much you want to channel the body. Next work your way through the car and find all the things that lowering the body will effect ie. shifter, e brake, rear suspention... next you want to go through and make all of your marks, measurments, and cutlines. (try to remove as much of the old sub frame as possible instead of cutting through it just drill out the rivets and remove the piece) before you start cutting it up you want to weld in 2 or 3 pieces of you tubing structure. use 2x1 and 1x1 tubing to make the new subframe. put in these pieces to the desired higght of the body. now remove the old floor, the body will drop to the hight of the tubing you just put in. now you can go about putting in mor tubing for structure. keep in mind places to mount the body to the frame and places to mount the seats to the body. here is the post i made of the cars we just did. there are lots of pictures http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266527
