Ok,So I'm not an engineer!

    It's settled. I will be putting a GM power steering box on the frame and cross steering. This is my first street rod and if this is the most expensive lesson I learn while building, I guess I'll be doing good. Took me quite a while "engineering" this in my mind and I really think I had it done safely (except that whole steers the wrong way thing) but I don't think I can do it right without starting over. Thanks to all the Hambers who had imput on this and I'm sure I'm not done with you yet!

    Well, I went and looked at your website the other day when this thread started and saw the car you are doing. That's really nice and a great concept to update that cool old car.
    I'll throw this at you, why not a manual steering box like a Vega? with cross steer. Or even the original box?
    The car is not heavy, and a power box is big, and then you need a pump hanging on the engine.

    Are you keeping the old Chevy front axle?
