so Im thinking fuck the viva rules and rolling my 65 c-10 out there (not sure if the other shit will make it) but Im wondering if the trained eye can really tell them apart. either way thanks for any info u can share, and if your going, see you there either way. oh and has anyone really been checked coming in, this is my first time to that show and was wondering how into "checking" these guys get
The 61, 62, and 63 cabs have large wrap around windshields, so the front of the doors do not come straight down, like the later 64 - 66's. The doors are notched to accomodate that big windshield. So yes, anyone who knows those chevy trucks can tell if it is an early or later style.
I agree. If they are at all familiar with 60-66 chev PUs the windshield is a dead giveaway. That being said, I would rather beg forgiveness than ask permission.
^ these guys are close. 60-63's have the wraparound windshield and 64-66's have the flatter one. What are the rules for admittance? Is it 63 and earlier, or is it 64 and earlier? If its 64 and earlier, your 65 could easily pass for a 64, especially if it has been customized and debadged (and your license plate doesnt read "1bad65" or something haha). But if its 63 and earlier admittance, its pretty easy to tell that a 65 isnt a 63 so it will probably depend on the mood of the person at the gate (or it could depend on your lying skills: "Yes, sir, this is a 63 with a later cab, the one that came on it was soo damn rusty!"). Personally, i'd let you in
