Build a non-traditional driver. Put a V6 and air conditioning and 12V electrics and a real radio. Then enjoy it. So what if it's gl***. Keep a real one for traditional stuff and have a fake one for silly things you wouldn't do to a real one.

Kinda like keeping the girlfriend for commitment and having a couple of Hooter's girls on the side to do nasty things to:D At least cars won't kill you in your sleep.... unless you're behind the wheel:)

Make a daily out of it. Don't personalize it too much, so it's easier to sell. Basic, fun, reliable. Thats all you need.

It is a CMC/Street Beast. No part of a 33/34 Ford will fit. It has a different frame and none of the body parts will interchange with any other car.
BUT, if you're into it cheap, why not low buck it together for a fun toy. To me it would be more fun than a VW "dune buggy" and there will always be someone in the market for a cheap hotrod somewhere. Don't believe me, just look around here! Play with it until you're tired of it and then sell it. Just don't tie a ton of money up in it finishing it up.

I'd remove the fenders and boards as nicely as possible, put an axle in the front if you can, but if there's an independent in there you can't remove, try at least make the front suspension look good. Find a correct proportioned fibergl*** grille, put in a black or white interior, scuff and shoot it a light color without spending a lot. Then you drive it until someone else gushes over it at the gas station and sell it to them.

Get it running with minimum expense drive it till it sells it's worth more running and driving than sitting in your garage or driveway.Just remember there's an *** for every seat.

It looks a lot better than some of the butcher job customized street rods that are made from the real thing. As far as keeping it forever I'm sure there are plenty of buyers out there if the price is right.

Those cars really do ****, but, if you got it cheap and can finish it cheap, it would make a pretty cool driver that won't rust out or go out of style, and it will still get lots of positive attention from most people, and some scorn from "those in the know".
But God, I really hate the company that produced that thing!

As manufactured, Street Beast are pretty wrong looking (best way to describe it). I have wondered if somebody with a good eye and good hands could "fix" one of them though.

If you have already made the deal, I say give it a shot. Its gotta be less of a piece of **** than my truck...and I enjoy the hell out of that thing.

Did the previous owner go through the paperwork process?

If it were mine I'd paint it up just like Billy Gibbon's ZZ Top "Eliminator" rod just for fun and to see the looks it would get everywhere I went with it. But then again, I'm a huge ZZ Top fan too. :D

Cut the fenders off, paint it fake rust patina, put some steel wheels on it and sell it as a traditional, barn find, ol' skool, hot rat street rod! Or just finish it the way you want and drive it?!?!?!?!

there are lots of "dreamers" out there, and the car is close enough to sell it off to one of them.

put it up for sale as is, and if no one bites, then make it drivable, and try again, do a little more, and try to sell it again, at some point you will either have a sold unit or a driver.

Gl*** cars are one thing Street Beast is another. Everyone I've ever seen has been for sale. You can tell its not a 34 Ford a block away. Get it running, put some black on it and get rid of it if you can.

I'd get it running with a cheap used 305-350 chev.350 turbo and drive it while building a different traditional car. I'd absolutely HAVE to replace the phony-baloney aluminum grille with an aftermarket/original 34 grille. If the hood didn't fit after the change, I'd dump the hood and run the car hoodless.
Make it a decent driver and sell it off after getting your "real" car on the street.

Rat rod it. Faux'tina the living daylights out of it. Go as radical on the engine as you can...I'm talking wild cam, tunnel ram, zoomies. THIS is the car to enter your second childhood with.

    Exactly :D

Actually, what I would probably do is just finish it up, give it a nice paint job and drive it, and I'd contact the Oklahoma film commission, all the local advertising, modeling, entertainment and any other agencies that might want to rent it for film, commercials, photo shoots or whatever and let them know what the going rate for the day is. They don't care if it's made out of metal, fibergl*** or corncobs as long as it looks good. and if they ding it up, no huge loss and you get to keep the deposit :D

    Step 1. Finish
Step 2. Drive the **** out of it.
Step 3. Realize that 90% of the people giving you **** about it wish to hell they could have a ride that cool. Grin widely and often.

Funny that half the crowd on the forum are too cool for something like this. He traded a freakin trailer for it. It is what it is, drive it.

I came pretty close to buying an unfinished one last year, and the guy found a guy who was willing to get closer to his asking price (hey, good for him). Looking closely at it, I figured that 95% of the wrong look was in the grille, grille shell, and hood. My plan was to cut off the built-in shell, and replace with a chrome repro shell. Then add a Rootleib stock-type hood. I also figured on bobbing the rear fenders and pan like the Jake Jacobs '33. By the time all that happened, most of the "Streetbeast" look would have been gone I think.

For anyone who knows someone STUCK with one, I'm in the market. I would make a drag car out of it ,I don't care what you call it if it's cheap.Email me with those cheap ones please.

  28. I'd loose the plastic grill in it, install a well patinaed original metal one, with my grinder I'd cut some light relief lines between the body and fenders/ running board section then primer the snot out of it.
Beats the hell out of a trailer.

Yep; tough croud. Living in the dark ages. Things change; Used to be that street rodders were ran off the board. Not anymore. I welcome that change and have a lot of street rodder friends. I don't recall ryan closing down a thread about a street rod or vendors selling street rod parts, or threads about NSRA. If asked he would point out what's 'not traditional hot rod' about that ride I suppose.

It'll never be '*****in' in the traditional hot rod discription but how many of us meet "all" of the requirements anyhow? With a stroked 302 and a C4 auto, etc. it has the makins' of a first cl*** ride.

Just depends on what turns you on. I'd put in AC, nice carpet, a $300 Dupont Omni Acrylic Enamel paint job and keep it.:D
