  1. It could be anything and will self destruct in 15 seconds. If you are caught or killed the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.
    Good luck. Mr. Phelps.

whatever it was, it probably didn't work very well with the wires not being soldered onto the switches!

    Something strange just happened...

I actually started CARING about what this thing is!

So I got some questions... What year caddy?

Can it be some sort of corpse mover like Satan suggested? any holes on the back with wires dangling out? obvious mounting points where nothing is mounted anymore?

Anywhere on back where lights and such used to be mounted? Follow those wires, inquiring minds want to know.

I have one last guess though,,, could it be to switch from the left to right blinker fluid reservoirs for when one runs low? ;)

I had a box with a switch on it like that. Everyday I'd flip it on and off a few times. Then I got a letter from Germany that said to cut it out.

I'm pretty sure that is just an old project box that Radio Shack used to carry. You bought it in the store along with the switches, LEDs, etc., and made what you needed from it.

My dad was an old Radio Shack manager from back when they didn't suck. He was always building stuff out of those. If he were still alive, he would have been able to identify all of the parts, AND quote the part numbers and prices. :)

The only way you will figure it out is to trace any wiring that still exists, if any.

EDIT: I believe that is one of the old project boxes that was intended for housing an LED display. The front of it, if it is the one I think it is, was transparent red, like and LED alarm clock, so the LED display could be viewed through it. Whoever put it together didn't use it the way I believe it was intended.

Your best bet for finding out what this used to control is to dig up under your dash find out what it was hooked to because like what was said it could be anything. Also if it has some lights/motor/some weird electrical thing that looks like it was added on later that is probably what it controlled.

  15. Did the car have four-way blinkers, factory? I just pulled a Signal-Stat switch off a '66 Catalina convertible (no one wants those, so it's being scrapped, frame is bad anyways) that someone had added onto it complete with terminals that clipped onto the column wiring.

How about back-up lights? Looks like something someone would make to improve upon or replace a factory type switch, how many things would you need an indicator to know it was turned on?

You have to enter the code and press that button every 108 minutes. The fate of the world depends upon your action.

It looks like the Riddler's remote control bomb that Batman would have to defuse on every episode.
