:) I am working on an old Model A truck and have always loving working on vintage machinery of all kinds. When I finish my truck it will be my new avatar but the current one reminds me of the goal. This isn't my truck but it is what it will look like when it's finished.

Right now mine is my car. Sometimes it's my grandson or what ever other neat picture I find.

Mine is my attempt at a historic style early rod... the kind ya ran at the lakes.. (streamliner class)... a "roaring roaster" on the track... and an early form of stripped down weekend drag strip duty... a ticket collector on the street... now its just a dust & rust collector... but, its an on again off again project that will eventually get done...

  21. Mine is my paternal grandfather. I called him "Papaw". He was a south Texas law man, rancher, politician and also owned a garage on the main street in our little town.

He was my absolute hero when I was a kid and it just devastated me when he died.

The photo is him in 34 with his new Ford....just before he married my grandmother.

She told me about how they took that 34 coupe from Brownsville, TX to San Antonio, in 1934 for their honeymoon and how it took them two days of driving the dirt road that ran next to the railroad tracks (deep south Texas was still pretty much frontier back then), and how they slept in a tent on the side of the road that first night. Cool stuff.

I miss them both so much it hurts.

  26. Me with the OT Lola T163 Can Am car I worked on and crew-chiefed for a few years.

I had a love hate relationship with that car, culminating in a life-changing horrible weekend at Road America in 2006.

This picture was taken at R/A in 2010, where we went back to the "scene of the crime" and won it all...

Mine was taken a couple of years ago right after my motor, the original numbers matching motor, was finished and I was able to get it installed.

Just thought the angle was cool.

    Looks considerably different now.

I should mention that here in Louisiana if you don't primer all your bare metal it will flash rust overnight, so primer goes on even if you have to sand it back off again just to protect the work you did the day before.
