So the other day my wife and I get talking about my new little hot rod obsession and we get talking about what I'd love to build someday...a Shoebox Ford. "Those look like Mob cars, Taylor!" <roll my eyes> So I take the opportunity to scroll through some pix I've downloaded and asked her what she liked and what she'd get into building.

So someone tell me exactly what this is...looks like a 5 Window Coupe to me, definitely a Ford, and I'm pretty sure it's from the 30s. Model A?

Model A sedan (or Tudor). Not exactly sure on the year, but a cool body style.

Real popular and easy to find parts for!

Cool, good to know! So if this is a Tudor and the '49 I want to build some day is also a Tudor...Hmmmmm, just variations over the generations. Nice.

Hey, if they're popular and easy to find parts for, then that means in a few years when we can afford to find a new project the odds are we'll be able to find one. [IMG]

  6. NorCalRiviera, it's a 1928 or '29 Model A Tudor Sedan. Coupes don't have a back seat and have quarter windows behind the driver rather than full size.

    Hey...
    What's wrong with mob cars?!

And they only really look mobby when they're chopped.

    Is Sunnyhell near Sunnyvale?

that's a 28-29 sedan. Tudor, cuz it's got two doors. Coupes have trunks. Fordors have four doors. Later model As have a wider cowl without quite the swoop as the older ones. Here's a pic of a 30-31 coupe. Or part of one anyway...
