1320stang;I don't think Wayne has it in there anymore. He did get the hood on,it slides forward, then tilts up.He is still driving the wheels off that 41 FORD!!!! ROY.
was watching Barret-Jackson auction last night...light blue 62 Galaxie and 68 SANGER HYDRO-HULL 17' boat both with cammers... went for $80,000.00. package deal. someone is going to have alot of fun. Wish it was me. I would love a 427 SOHC for my 62 Ranch Wagon!
Here's a classic, back-in-the-day, shot of Canadian John Petrie's Factory-backed Cammer funny. Curiously, John had been associated with Mopar S/S Hemis, and would return to their fold, as Canada's version of Sox & Martin, with the Mopar Performance Clinic touring coast-to-coast in Canada. But for one brief shining moment... Image found elsewhere on the HAMB
Talk to Barry Robotnik at Survival Motorsports. He can probably point you in the right direction. http://www.survivalmotorsports.com/ He is also on the HAMB under the handle Barry R.
Long chain drive is wicked. Here's a mega-long belt driven dohc, about at decade OT from the ford and inspired by it. Not sure if I like the belt better than the chain or not. Interference of course, gotta make it interesting.
Can't answer the "where's it now....." question, but the original builder was Bill Fredricks in SoCal.
WOW....that is crazy cheap. I recall seeing the Sanger on an internet auction site that we are not allowed to mention about a two years ago or so. I watched very little of the BJ auction, mostly crap as far as I am concerned. Had I know about this though....Hmm, might of made a trip to AZ.
Porsche? If it is, I understand the belt adjustment procedure requires a Master's degree from MIT and they are notorious for eating pulleys if you don't do it right.
This was my favorite Cammer shot. Kalitta has his digger in Ford's wind tunnel. Can't remember now what issue of Hot Rod this is from.
WOW;that last post with Kalitta's dragster is GREAT!!!! I had never seen that picture, seen others from the test though! ROY.
Eric;there were a couple of real Cammers at the GNRS.George Poteet had both his Starliner and Sunliner there. Those two big Fords are INSANE!!!!! I'm not a fan of big wheels,20"+,but those two Galaxies pull it off.I realize they are BIG $ cars but they are beautiful, and have the perfect engine-trans combos! ROY.
That thing is a knockout. I guess you wouldn't worry about blowing out the back window over 100...just leave it cranked open.
