  1. It's time again to go to OKC. it's pre-81 this year and I can't help wondering what will show up? I can remember 20+years ago going and driving my buddy's 34 plymouth because mine wasn't running and I was in awe over the street rods that were everywhere. Cruizin Meridian Ave and seeing all the people lined up to watch us. Well times have changed but the cars keep coming. The Rodders are older (some of um)but the hobby continues and the stories are made and remembered. Enovation gains ground but the common thread of a "gear head" gathering lives on.
Don't save spots for your buddies and have fun. See Ya there!

  2. I plan on going with the '41 pickup. Should be fun. It has been for the last few years. I do not see the year shift affecting things much. If anything, it'll bring something other than "cookie-cutter" rods and we'll see a much broader representation of vehicles.

My favoriate year was 86 i was young enough that it left a impression on me for life, the smell of smoke from burning tires and the traffic backed up for miles, will never leave me. I will be going again this year. I do wish the cut off date was in the 60's.

  4. I had a 37 Chevy sedan around that time and it was great...Cars and people everywhere.Meridian Ave was standing room only and if it could roll it was cruizin up and down the street.A guy in a motorhome was trying to pop a wheely,I saw it all. Oh the days.... Well this year,we'll see?
Look me up.I'll have the Burb there and shouldn't be hard to spot.:)

I went as a vendor last year and didn't see a real change. The late models that showed were for the most part nice cars. I'll be back again this year doing the same ole thing.

I'll be there with the green 59 f100, and my buddy will take his new 60 f100.

  7. That change was made for Louisville last year. The only thing that changed was a lot more traditional rods and customs showed up. Very few rides that looked out of place.

  8. Cool to all.Look forward to it.Anybody have any news or interesting stories from years past?:)

As a former vendor and a Super Sponsor for the NSRA for many years, I have always thought the year change was a good thing. Let's face it...many older street rodders are gettin too many years on the calender to really participate the way they used to. The new participants are bringing a little younger and different crowd to the events.
No gripes out of me..!! I like the change.

It seem's like Tbuckets were realy hot and everywhere in'86, I did not think much of the year change at first but the vehicles I was worried about the most didn't showup. The customs, muscle cars, and everything else was ok with me. I do remember going to Parr Automotive's free cookout a few years back for the rodders, and there was so many uninvited people from the appartment complex next door they never had it again

After many years as a member of the NSRA, I dropped my membership last year. I do not plan to enter their events at this time. This whole year change policy showed us that the NSRA is just after the hot rodders money. It is a business and they will do whatever they need to do to make a buck. I will spend my money somewhere else for now. It is not like there is no other place to go.

You guys do whatever you want.

Scrambling to get the woodie ready to attend. Hasn't seen the street in 15 years. Picking up the inner front fenders from the powder coater this morning and then all of the pieces will be present and ready to go. Still lots of little things to go but I will make it. Promised our grand-daughter a ride onto the fairgrounds on Sunday morning so there's a lot of pressure to get it done.
