thanks squirrel now i can prove there was such a thing to the guys at garage night unfortunately i did not think to put any money down
Thinking about how a single lobe profile could possibly control both the intake and exhaust events on a given cylinder made my brain hurt! I had to spend some time studying the illustrations at the link you provided but finally convinced myself that it could work. But I'd imagine it would really limit how much you can adjust such things like overlap or lobe separation angles. Still, a fairly beneficial and cost effective upgrade on an older engine design.
This ran an old 239 (?) AMC from a 2wd Jeep. Big cam, rebuilt head, Clifford intake and good carb and built trans. Ran hard. Gobs of tourqe.
one of the posters at the article you linked claims that the lightweight cu style honda inverter generator has used this cam setup for about 20 years honda small engines are tough to beat and the picture of the cam the lobes look like a solid roller profile
This little 1953 Reo lawnmower engine also used a single lobe camshaft to actuate both IN and EX valve.
