Does anyone remember or have any info about a dirt track in Oak Hill (SW Austin, TX)? It was called Oak Hill Downs. Started as a horse track in the 40s and, "Later the track was used for racing buggies and roadsters, but it was never surfaced. Always dirt. The track was oriented differently for every nights race. It was a 1/4 oval." I just learned about it and would like to dig up some old photos if any are out there. It sat on what is now property of Motorola. If you know anything at all or can point me in the direction of someone who does, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks - er

Yeah, I was talking to Doyle over at R&D (Performance? on Woodbury) he said back in the day they used to drag race out there on quarter mile DIRT track..man, that must have been interesting, how do you get any kind of traction in the dirt?...
