I found these unopened cans in a garage cleanout. Any idea the era of these metal cans? 80s? 70s?

  2. Guessing 70's but could be older. I never used that particular brand.

FMVSS 116, referenced at the bottom of the can, was authored on April 22, 2006.

Tech tip: Unused brake fluid from an unopened can should be discarded due to the possibility of picking up moisture in the air (its hygroscopic).
So when I open a can of brake fluid before closing it back up I put the nozzle of my TIG welder in the mouth and purge the air with shielding gas.

Actually it was Dec 2, 1971. April 22,2006 was probably just a revision. They are more than likely 1970's.
