Well, I hike lots, and find new things, like buncha old homesteads from 1910-1930ish. Finally found a new one..was pretty exciting, because it had an old car outside. Someone pointed me to you guys, because I am having trouble IDing it. Here is some photo's!

Its a few miles out there...no motorized vehicles allowed anynmore, its a wildlife reserve now. Its on state property, so I do not even know if I am able to salvage it, or if someone else could (since i dont have the $$ to if interested!) Anyone know what car this is?

Who cares! Quite whining/narking being a baby!

Maybe he is not even a car nut! He found something I know I would LOVE to find, and someone pointed him here to share it with us. And for the lucky ******* that lives in that region there is a cool moordoor to cook into a rod/custom something or another!

I appreciate the pics. Maybe someday one of those posts will show a cool Stude 4door in the NE Illinoize area I can save! Yeah right....

You better hope your state laws don't copy federal laws. If they do, that car will rust away before you get it. I'm an archaeologist on an Army base here in Kansas. Anyway, most state, and all federal laws cl***ify anything older than 50 years as historic, which means you can't legally touch it. Stealing it is always a possibility, but then you get into theft of Gov't property (a felony) if you get caught. If you're lucky, you'll find someone with the authority to say yes take it, that doesn't know the Historic Preservation laws.

Sad but true. I was out at the base dump used from 1900-1940's the other day. Found 1 '26-27 Model T Coupe, 2 Model A sedans, and a late 20's Dodge. All half buried, and all part of an archaeological site and therefore "protected" gov't property. Its such total ********!

And where the **** is your intro?

It sure as hell wasn't... :D
So back up Donnie, if that's really your name... :p

Yes Intro's are read... some are commented on.. some aren't... some people don't read the rules... some people don't follow them, but watch out if you show up at the drags after no intro... strange things will happen out in that corn field... :D:D:D

Rusty1, without seeing the grille or pieces of the grille, I couldn't tell you what model or year...

Are you going to want to see whos **** is bigger next?
Judging other people by number of post is pretty ****ing stupid, but I have noticed that only the stupid posters do that.
As for the rules if you 3 eye dots would read the rules. they do not say you have to post a intro, but I really do not think any intro would be good enought for you 3 little minded women.
No Nads is my buddy, he thinks the same thing of me that you 3 do.
Zman thanks for the invite to the cornfield but unlike you I do not swing that way.

No but judging people by wether they can read or not is fun. You obviously can't... :D

Actually the part agree to when you sign up does indeed say to do an intro, sorry you missed it, must be a reading comprehension thing....

Obviously you're scared of driving your car half way across the country to race others on an ancient drag strip in the middle of a corn field in MO. But then again from your response I think you have brokeback on your mind... Maybe you should seek help in coming out of the closet... :D:D:D

You also seem to be emoticon challenged.....

Well Donnie...you certainly have a way with words...and look at those intelligent words that start with "f". Those well chosen, and stated words certainly cut to the quik...OW!

Lemmee see now...tell me again what "eye dots" are...oh, that hurts...and please explain "little minded women" for me, too, would you? Oh, man cut to the bone on that one.

And of course Donnie, you are correct, I do not have to post an intro...however, I posted the guidelines below for you...these are posted right up top on the Intro page...it says "Read this first" obviously you didn't. Now please tell me again where it states Donnie doesn't have to post an intro...

    Guidelines:
    1. If in doubt, don’t post it
    2. Stay on-topic and relevant with your posts… OT posts aren’t generally appreciated by our membership.
    3. Gotta easy question? Try using the search function first.
    4. Your life here would probably be easier if you complete your profile and introduce yourself before jumping into the deep end...

and while we're at it, let's view your profile:

    Location:
    ill Occupation:
    computer stuff Cars:
    yes Biography:
old hot rodder from the 70s

Very ELOQUENT...and of course, filled out correctly and fully...NOT! "An "old" rodder from the seventies," eh? OK, I can't dispute that...but tell you what old rodder - tuck your tail between your legs and don't let the door hit you in the *** on your way out.

    R-

PS. I do have a bigger ****...but guess we'll never be able to compare since you "don't swing that way."

Well Logan, I guess by now you kinda see how we like things to work here! It`s helpful to post an INTRO to let us know who you are, cars you like or working on, and so forth. We like to know who we are talking to and you`re intrest because there are alot of people here with alot of different cars. Welcome to our disfuntional family!

To everyone that helped me out with suggestions and friendly comments...thanx. Some good ideas there and good info. To the poster that stated due to state laws it might just have to stay there and rust....that crossed my mind. It is on a wildlife reserve, they do not allow motorized vehicles out there. So lugging parts back (if legally allowed) by hand or by horse back would not be easy, it is a decent hike out there. And a decent hike to me is usualy more than most people could handle, I am a wildland fire fighter so hiking is what I do for a living.

To everyone who was greatly offended by me not introducing myself. Well first off I will HALF apologize for ruffling your feathers. Only half, it is the internet, and I do not post "about me" things in detail due to that. If I have a few chats with someone and we seem to get along, they might find more out about me. If you want to put your life out there for everyone to see, good for you. That is just not me. If I choose to post here more and comment on others posts, you will see what I am about and who I am (by this thread you can guess I don't know much about old cars). I am not a collection of cars I have owned, cars I have wrecked, or cars I have fixed, my personality and self worth are determined by other attributes. So this is my intro, take it or leave it.

An intro post isn't your life story, we just like the car stuff. And you don't have to be an expert, just don't pretend to be one. As you see, many good questions like yours almost always get a good answer. I do agree about not being allowd to go haul it out, they might even consider it a habitat for the wildlife now because it has been there so long.

Now that's a horse**** cop out if I ever heard one. Donnie caught the brunt of it anyway. You didn't get ****. The whole "I can't tell you about myself I'm on the Internet" is Bull. It's easy enough to give a little intro. Tell us what cars you have, what cars you've had. Treat it like you're at someones garage hanging out. We didn't ask for your address or your social. If you can't do that much then you're pretty much a worthless chicken ****. You mind as well get to gettin'... I did think that it was pretty cool you found that Stude out in the middle of nowhere, now I'm starting to change my opinion....

Couldn't you just report it as an eyesore which has no place in a wildlife park and then offer to remove it free of charge. Surely there is someone out there authorized to make an exception to the vehicle ban for the purpose of removing an eyesore from the landscape.

Look he's not even a car guy. He found this old car and figured someone might want that old car. I bet you'd have all treated him a bit better if that Stude had been a '32 Ford roadster or a '40 Ford coupe. You guys would have been all over him. You'd have been the ones doing the intros on a PM. But what do you think he's going to do when he does find that '40 Coupe tommorrow. What's he going to do? Is he going to think to himself, "Hey I'll take some piccys and share this find with those nice guys on HAMB" Hell he ain't. He's just going to get on with his life. He gave you car guys a chance of seeing what he finds out there and you blew it. Cos you all figured he wanted to muscle in on your cosy club. He's not a car guy and doesn't want to build a car. If he was a car guy he'd have known his find is a Studebaker.

I may be a "Newbie" but I've been around here since 2003 so I've been a "Newbie" a long time.

    Just my opinion

    Ed
