Are Hiedt spindles the "good ones"?

  2. The brakes are a 1974ish Ford Torino or something in the family, maybe an LTD. The calipers are locked in with that slide on the bottom, held in with a shoulder bolt, visible in one of the pictures.

The later Mustang II factory calipers may have been that configuration, now that I think of it.

Who cares as long as it drives and stops good. Do you remember how to make shackles? I like a little rake. Your car looks damn good. I have small rotors on mine because I run 14" rims. I like to change the tires every so often. The 14" tires are still cheap. 1431656213470.jpg

I liked the attitude it had , If you ever want to put it back you could use 5/8" narrowed tubular control arms (or narrow those) or different offset wheels. Just sayen. :D

If I remember correctly, the Granada Disc set up moves the wheel out about 5/8 on each side from the stock MII, I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Just a thought, does your car have inner fender braces/splash shields at the rear of the front fender? When I bought my 40 it was missing those and rubbed like crazy, when i put them in it pushed the rear of the front wheel opening out which gave mor clearance and a lot better turning radius. I sur e like the way it sat before....sorry
