I wish. He kind of trumped me with it being "his" find. He's the one with the connection. He genuinely has no interest in the car though. I think I'll still end up with it, it's just going to cost me more money. I can't be too mad though. I wouldn't even know about it if it wasn't for him and it was fun to go check it all out today. I wish the pictures didn't **** so bad.

The cars in the ba*****t can't even get out right now. They've been plumbed around and a wall built since they were parked. That should be interesting. They are sincerely PERFECT cars down there...that's the 65 vette, the black 57 nomad, and the black 57 two door. The motorcycles can make it out the service doors though. The stuff in the garage is packed so tight that you can't even walk one foot into the garage. There are at least two cars that aren't even visible from any angle. I believe they are the 67 and 69 camaros. That white 57 convertible is a lot nicer than it looks in pictures. It's got the early chevy grill in it and it needs paint but it's pretty cherry other than that. These cars have seen zero weather since at least 1972 and have been moisture free other than the drool I put on them today.

:)[the 35 5window looks like it has been customized beyond just the chop'n channel, it seems to have 40 ford headlights and modified front fenders , hard to see much more with all the **** in the pictures but it is real interesting from what I can see. good luck, I sure hope your' buddy' turns out to' be a buddy' and walk away from that car.

QUOTE=unclescooby;3920091]I went to a garage today where I was informed of some cars that needed to be removed and sold a few days ago. This includes the "how do I get rid of 1000 tires" post. This lady got left with a LOT of stuff. Most of it junk. Some of it not junk. The stuff in the house is NOT junk at all. I didn't take pictures of all of it. It's been in the garage since 1972 and some of the house was actually added on to after the fact and the cars are literally built INTO the house now. They'll find a way out.

    1957 chevy...perfect
1957 chevy convertible customized in 1960...nice but needs paint
    1957 chevy two door hardtop...perfect
    1965 corvette perfect....bought new
    1966 riviera NICE 41k miles...bought new
    1967 camaro...completely buried...supposedly perfect
    1969 camaro...completely buried...supposedly really nice
    1935 Ford 5 window...chopped...channeled...rodded in 1961...parked in 1972...perfect
    motorcycles....etc...

They all sold today so don't even ask. Just thought you'd wanna see em...[/QUOTE]

Wow, such a crazy story. Sure wish there were some better pics. Thread like this are why I keep a digital camera in my car.

  11. You know about your 'buddy'........
It would take a long time for a body to be found in there if you dragged out that 36 and put him in the trunk of a hidden car then locking the doors again.....

If most of the tires are on rims they should be easy to get rid of. Post on Craigslist, rims with tires $10 each, for each rim you buy must take 1 un-mounted tire too. Heck, I'm three hours away, in Columbus, I'll drive over and probably leave with 4 sets of rims. You should at least make enough to cover disposal cost of the rest. If you use my idea though, post it here first and let me get first pick over the Craigslist people.

Wow, what a find! How does one get cars in the ba*****t? Even with no house on top of it you would need a ramp down into it, or a crane to put them in there. It is like an Egyptian tomb.

The deals are all done now. The Ford was the last car. It's just a matter of cleaning the whole place up and getting stuff out now. That's an episode all by itself. I'll see if I can post some pictures of these as they emerge from the darkness over the next few weeks...

Go consult with a probate attorney or paralegal today.
I reckon somebody died for this to come down this way, and if the paperwork isn't done in the proper procedures, you and she are looking at spending the next five years in court.
It's not complicated to do it right, only complicated it if it's done wrong.

I used to have a T-shirt that said "Whoever has the most toys when he dies wins". They must have been in that race and looks like they weren't coming in last place.

There is hope for us..take this stash and multiply by how many car guys are in their 60s 70s 80s..went over to a(older than me) guys house a few weeks ago, He bought a 57 windshield from me..His collection focus apparently was Rochester fuel-injected 57s and early Corvettes..He had three 57s and three Corvettes, all very nice..shelves of FI stuff, 2X4 manifolds, boxes marked "Cameo" six or seven Whizzers and a ton of vintage signs, toys and Tikis..and He was building a Black Widow clone..It was great eye candy..

Awesome find, when the 36 comes out would like to see some picks of it :D

  28. Please help an Old Fart out. Was your "buddy" the one who bought the entire collection? Or did he but the '36 from whomever bought it all.

I'm thinking it must have been in the low to mid six figure area.

The cars are all going to different people I believe. The Ford is all I was after. Still in negotiations for it. It will either be his or mine depending on how much he decides to sell it for and that won't be determined until the car can get out of the garage which may take several more weeks of unearthing and moving cars outside the garage to clear a path. There are still a LOT of these finds out there I think...it's just the first biggest one I've found in a while.

About five years ago I found a place near Ft. Wayne Indiana where the guy had over 500 cars tucked in barns and out rusting in the fields. There was crazy stuff there. 57 lincoln convertible, cadillac limos and ambulances from the 40's, a barn full of old 30's to 60's rolls royces, jaguars, cords, grahams, and a bunch of crosley's. Model A's, tons of obscure old british cars...Humbers, Sunbeams, and military surplus plus buses, campers, semi trailers full of parts, and more. It was insane. I bought two 1939 Graham supercharged sharknose cars and a 57 Lincoln convertible there. One of the Grahams went on to Barris to become the Shark Attak car from a couple years ago. I should have bought much more. I wanted the Cord so bad but when word of that place got out, some European guys came in with HUGE money and swept the place clean of the high end cars.
