After years of being in a bad marriage and living in a fancy pants subdivision with restrictive covenants,I'm free! After the divorce I quickly purchased a farm house with a couple of acres, and currently give the middle finger to anyone dosent like the way my yard looks. Now I'm not a total pig,but I do love old cars and usually have 3 or 4 projects ****tered around my property for all the world to see.At Christmas we usually decorate one up with lights. It goes without saying that I haven't remarried yet,no woman would put up with this ****...Heres pics of a few thats come and gone.Whats your yard look like?

  3. I'm soooo envious. I'm in one of those sub-divisions over in Suwanee, got to have everything in the garage, no trailers in the back yard or driveway, etc. If it wasn't for the grandkids living across the street, I'd be out on little place like you have. Stay in touch...
What's the story on the '59, NASCAR?

The 59 chevy race car was one piece that was yard art from the get go.I wanted an old circa 1960 NASCAR style race car to look at everyday and cut gr*** around.I picked up a rolling beat 59 body for 750.00,brush painted it white, and paid a local sign painter 100.00 bucks to make it look like that-total outlay-850.00.It actually looked real when it was done...

  8. My wife claims about 1/8 of a acre for a yard around the house no yard art no car parts in house:(. But i have covered up the rest of out three acres pretty good:D. Oldwolf

Hey, you know what you like and do what you want, can't go wrong with that!
    I'll take the red one!

I have some yard art around here, we have 3 acres. Have an old 1920's generator "wired" to the electric box outside, an old military fire valve at the front gate that greets ya when you drive up. Stuff like that. Any old cars would get fixed up and not really be art anymore. Maybe have a large patch of nice gravel brought in, park the cars neatly and make a hangout area for your BBQ.

Wire all the cars to some old drive-in speakers for added effect as well!

I moved out of town for the very reason that I wanted no interference with my lifestyle. I keep things neat and clean up front and the new house is landscaped, super gr*** and shrubs/trees. Out back (we have 5 acres) behind my 40' X 80' two story shop it's a little different. A couple of tractors, trucks and project cars are, for the most part, out of sight.
Our township rodance states "no vehicles that aren't licensed and drivable. After 16 years and an actual reduction of outside vehicles the ***** across the street (and down a couple of doors) decides she has nothing better to do than report my extra cars. After a pleasant conversation with the supervisor and pending knee replacement surgery I've got an extention on the cleanup deadline. After the smoke clears and I'm in compliance there will be about three new yard art projects going in. A rusted bent '34 Ford 1 ton will take up residence on the corner of my property facing her house. I'm towing an old tractor out facing the road and it's going to be my new mailbox stand. A couple of pieces of old farm machinery will take up residence around the yard and I'm thinking a couple of those rotating christmas tree lights with red, white and blue filters rotating inside a couple of the displays will be just the right touch at night. I'll hook the lights up to automatic timers so i won't have to mess with turning thm on every night.
I've checked the ordances and there is no restriction on yard art. So............................we'll see who wins round #2.
This is the same old battleaxe that tried to circulate a pe***ion to keep me from putting up a flagpole when I first moved out here. Said she didn't want anyone to think she lived next door to a Post Office. She lost that one and in the meantime 3 other people have put in flagpoles because they thought mine looked so good.:D

Frank, how close are the neighbors homes (on your side of the street) in relation to your house? We are moving soon and altho being on 2 acres, we won't put a shop up yet, hopefully in the near future. I do however want to put up some privacy 6 ft fencing cornering off a 100x200 section of yard for future shop space and project cars. I find that it is easier to go out of your way in the begining to keep your space nice than it is to try and clean up after you have pissed people off. If they have nothing to look at, they will have no reason to look for... The neighbor on one side is about 50 ft from our house, but the other is about 1/8 mile away, so Im not worried about them.

    Frank,

I wonder if you could rig up working headlights... super bright, of course that would shine right at her house.

If that doesn't work maybe some flood lights to spotlight it that accidentally illuminate her windows.

Absolutely the best stuff so far and as for the neighbors & homeowners ***ociation they can be the worst if you piss them off but if you go out of your way to please them they can be your best friend!:)
