Technical Old Chevy Hood Emblem Identification

I can't figure out what this one is for. My dad is saying that it's probably an early 50's Chevy Truck, but I'm not sure of the right year:





It's about 17-1/2 inches in length. Any good comments that help me out, I'll give you a like!!!

Almost looks like a 63 impala trunk emblem, but just a little different....

 

I googled some pics of a '63 Trunk Emblem and they look flat on the bottom. this one comes down in an angle at the bottom. Thanks for a lead on it, though, Inked Monkey.

 

It looks like the center is the plastic insert type. I think all the early fifties stuff was one peice pot metal. This will certainly date it of give you a starting point. If that's correct, I'm looking at the early sixties. Tim

 

Ya, Tim, that's definitely a plastic insert. But I have some '55-57 Chevy emblems that have a plastic insert? Still not sure, though, but that's some useful info.

 

that's a 61 chevy grill emblem.

 

It looks almost the same except for the extra chrome piece that runs along the top,
but I can't find anything that's closer.
