This car was listed in another thread....not treated too well either...I hope the owner wasn't here and shamed into silence. As I said earlier...I remember seeing this car in '61 or '62 and it was a Beautiful White Pearl with what looked to be Black Bear Interior...It has a Half Top and I don't recall much else. The car appears to be in California now...I see it in background shots now and then. I know some of you think it's ugly, but ugly, like Beauty is often in the eye of the beholder...No opinions can take the very cool memories of this car for me...I think it began as a MidWest Car...I saw it in Milwaukee...Thanks Guys.....C9
The only polite words to describe that car are "nice color". It for sure comes from the thinking of "Fred won the last show with a car that had 40 body modifications so I had better do 50 to beat him."
I was like, wow that looks good, then the picture opened up all the way and the damn thing has a double chin. It's almost like instead of lowering the car, they lowered the bodywork. That whole stude pan deal on the bottom doesn't flow with the top, it might be okay moved up, moved in, and eliminate that ridge and small grille between it and the lights. But I think I'd lop off everything from that ridge down and start over.. maybe a '59 Pontiac grille divider at the point and just a simple round pan below it. Or a '56 Caddy grille/bumper combo with the grille top v'ed a bit to match the upper bodywork.
Bill Hine's World's Fair custom. We talked about it a while back, this thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4966&showall=1
