So I am looking to see if anyone out there is willing to make me some wheel well beads for my roadster with the flare in the quarter. I can buy the inner and weld to it then weld them into the quarter. Or better yet if someone has some bad quarters where the beads are good that would be the best but I know that’s a shot in the dark. D2208525-303D-43FD-9515-141CB30D3660.jpeg

  6. I know of a Shop in Portland Oregon that would be up to a job like that. I have seen several of his bead working jobs as well pullmax stampings. Weather he has exact dies to match the ones you need I don't know but that's just the added job of job of turning them out as needed. If you can't find someone closer, I can give you a Ph#.

  8. Business name is Schroder Speed & Custom. 503-674-8207. His girl Friday will answer the phone. You will actually want to talk to Darryl. I would think it important to tell him you're not going to bolt fenders on the car, more just an accurate looking body reveal that fits the tire and over all look. I'm sure the difference between Factory correct and Hot Rod comes at a different cost. I'm pretty sure he an do either one for ya.

Bird Dog, been off the HAMB for a while. A month was spent after major hernia repair, intensive. I felt like a flathead must after 'squaring-up', boring, porting/relieving, etc. Mostly, Congrats on your second little girl!
Wife and I have 2 girls, 5 years apart, both grown now. They both knew and loved my '55 F100, '27 Highboy, and MANY more.
I was surprised to read your intention to sew in some fenderwells. I think it will 'authenticate' its '32 Henry status to the 'unwashed'...
Also stoked to see it on the cover of our 'Bible', HOP UP!
    You rule, Bird.

Thanks man I appreciate that! I love being a father! Sounds like you have had some awesome cars! I love my 55f100 that would be the last vehicle to leave if I had to sell any. To many memories with it! I am ready to make a change with the car going to do some rust repair and we will see where it goes from there. Ordered some new tires since the vintage firestones are starting to scare me on the freeway

Thank you!! I will give him a call and see what he says. I will plan to update as I work on the car. Will you be hitting the salt this year?

  12. Hey birdog,
    I don't comment much anymore.
Right now I don't even have a car that qualifies here but....
I have followed this thread since it started.
I remember thinking that it was so cool to have the
wheel well beads smoothed off. I think the reason was
that when the longer chassis was used the arch wouldn't
correctly frame the wheel. The only smoothed '32 roadster
I ever saw was a friends' model car, AMT I think, back in the late '50s.
You said your car was built in the '40s, and somebody "got it",
The rear wheel wouldn't "center" with the 33 frame.
No body in the world today would even think of smoothing
the sides of a real '32 roadster! To me you have a one of a kind.
If it was mine I would never change back!
But that is up to you and Just my $.o2!
    I still love your car!

  13. Being Pete has sold Lickety Split and nobody I've assisted will be there that I know of I kind of doubt it. Also I sold the Pit Car I used there. My New/Old coupe may be ready for a road trip so I won't rule it out but kind of looks doubtful at this time. I hate to miss the total event there and being I camp at the bend in the Road I won't rule it out just yet.

Really like that picture! I can understand why you want the bead, but I still think that car is perfect just the way it is. It has a lot of soul and character!

    I wouldn't change a thing.

Adding a bead to impress the 32 purists makes me sad.
