In 2 weeks (May 31st) there is a going to be a reunion and car show at the location of a drag strip that used to be in Pilot Point, Texas. I just moved into the town and was wondering if anyone out there knew anything about the track. From what I have heard here and there around town it operated from the mid 50's to the mid 60's. Other than that I haven't been able to get much other information. I would really like to know more.

  3. Hmmm, I know where Piney Point, TX, but where the hell is Pilot Point?

  4. Information....need information. We are attending the rat rod / nostalgia race at Ardmore, OK on the 30th. If Pilot Point in in or around the DFW area, maybe we could make that too. Let me know by contacting me at BPerrenot@hotmail.com. I am leaving the country tomorrow for a week or so and won't be able to access the HAMB, but can my e-mail.

I'm not the one putting the show on, the local newspaper has an ad in it, e-mail micheal@activehomecare.org or equdoc1992@aol.com for more information. It starts at 3pm May 31st, the ad says there will be signs directing people to the location. I guess I should have stated, that I wanted more information on the history of the dragstrip if anyone knew.

A friend of mine brought me an old newspaper article writing about the tracks up rise in 1965. What I understood is they are trying to organize a reunion for the old strip. Sounds like a good time! It is a nice cruise around that area, and some great places to eat.

    There's probably a Dairy Queen there now, and it's just a cruise-in.

It's off of Massey Road in Pilot Point, the ad in the local paper said there would be signs around town leading to where the show is

  17. if you're coming south from OK on i35, exit at sanger and go east toward the lake. that will take you to pilot point. coming north from dallas on 35, exit loop 288 on the north side, and take 380 east to 377. that'll get ya to pilot point. dunno where the show is, but that will get ya to town. nice driving around there, usually see lots of motorcycles cruising around that area.
