Technical Old Edelbrock Part# Needed for Y Block Engines

On the Y Block Ford dual quad manifolds there is a finned choke/heat riser cover that I believe was sold as a seperate item.

Would someone have that number from an old 1955-1960 catologue ?

I had a quick look and didn't see any mention. Looked through the small parts towards the back and didn't anything mentioned there either...

nope, it was on an edelbrock intake fm255 designed for small port heads. you might need a 1955 catalog

 

I think the same part was used on all of the dual quad manifolds with that kinda hot air choke side plate

I remember seeing a new one in a package back in the 70s . Thats why I believe it was availiable as an individual item.

The 53 catalogue I have obviously doesn't have Y block stuff, and unfortunately, I only have the cover of the 55 catalogue.

Man...that's a 'hard number'.

 

That would be very simple to sandcast. make a pattern out of wood and use it to create a mold. and melt some aluminum and cast yer own.

 

I found it in my ‘55 Edelbrock catalog listed as an Automatic Choke Adapter (part #1155) for Mercs and Lincolns when swapping the Holley 4bbl for a Stromberg/Charter 4bbl. Rather pricey at $2.50!

 

I knew I had seen it as a stand alone item - many,many years ago.
