  4. Picked this up for $40 bucks today, I must of got ripped off because it doesn't say how many gallons it is, but it's 21 inches long and standard diameter. It's got a neat knurled knob drain cock on the bottom.
I threw my old brackets on it from my Henry J's Eelco tank using a choke cable on one side since the original was missing.

cool, that fitting with the knurled knob looks just like the ones they used to use on vintage go kart fuel tanks. I would imagine they used that for a tank drain? 1/4" nipple size?

  6. Yes 1/4 for tank drain, the lower right line is like an AN fitting only made out of steel, it had a black rubber coated braided line on it that I removed.
The guy said it came out of a 67 Camaro but didn't say much about the car.

The holy fucking grail of Eelco gauges. New old stock silver faced water temperature gauge. I paid the moon for this and no I don’t want to sell it

  10. Mark, several years ago I flew out to the LA Roadster show, and A guy supposedly had a good EELCO water temperature waiting for me. We had made the deal before hand, and the gauge was supposed to be mine. When we got together he told me that he had sold it to someone else. It is a good thing that they have laws to protect people like him, as I would definitely have torn him a new one.

$4.97 in 1961 was actually quite a lot. Cool stuff cost good money then and now.

If there was ever a Holy Grail, the Eelco silver faced water temp would be it, for sure. The supercharger gauge would probably be a close second. Those faces were very delicate & tended to degrade faster than an other sorts of gauge faces. The strange reflectivity of the face was some sort of factory process which could probably not ever be accurately duplicated. Here a really nice oil pressure along side a (working) oil temp that has obviously seen exposure to the sun & heat.

Now, that's a full set of gauges! Cool how the vacuum needle swings ''backwards''.
