He's 16. Fire and Bitches are what's cool. In five years he'll think they're gay and we'll all still be here. My 56 had flamethrowers when I was a teenager and you old farts wouldn't have talked me out of it, just like now I think A/C and radials is lame. I'm sure I'll "come around" in 20 years... :p

Go for it kid, but it is super Dorky. Like that black truck in the pic you put up. The one with the "Hardcore" font on the lettering for the club. I bet that dude has a Harley. And wears a bandanna. I would most definitely make fun of that dude. Doesn't make me cooler. It just makes me a dick. But I'm a funny dick. :D

Do whatever you want to your car. You paid for it. At least your not out causing trouble

  7. I still don't think that A/C and radials are cool. ;)

I had flame throwers on my car for about a week when I was in high school. Side dumps and a try power. Smoked the paint on on of the rich kids cars at a stop light and then used my T coils to protect my car, no more flame throwers.

the old way is to use model T coils....

nightprowler sells their kit and you need 2 regular coils...

i wouldnt go propane your just asking for trouble...

there should be a few threads on here about how to do it with model T coils...

cheers and good luck... and drive the shit out of your car.

oh by the way , get a carb with a mechanical choke. and it washes your rings and hurts the motor...

have fun and dont burn down the neighborhood.

I truely cant for the life of me imagine how cool i would have been in high school if i had flame throwers. I dont think i could have counted the free beer i would have gotten. Now if someone else had them first, eh wouldnt be as cool.

On a side note isnt it wierd that you can own and walk around with a flame thrower. I guess it just never comes up. It just boggles the mind.

  10. Don't forget in order to have flame throwers you have to have flat black paint, red wheels, and lots of skulls! Then you will have the most bitchin car ever!

don't buy the kit from night prowlers it is junk. I started with that and it didn't last 6 months. my dad built mine using a 12v electric motor and a points style distributor and 2 12v coils. got maybe 30 dollars in it when I spent 90 for the night prowler set up.

here is a couple video's of my cars. when you watch the second vid you can see what a difference a manual choke can make. neither car is injected. also pay attention to were you put the sparkplug in your tip. I usually put mine between 8 and 12in back from the end of the tip so I can get a decent size flame. and I would not suggest to rev the engine as high as I do cause you don't want to hurt the engine anymore than you already are.

  14. I bet they drive R** Rods too.

  15. Oh man does this bring back the memories! When I was 16 I put them on my '63 Impala. The first thing I did was burn out the tail lights and damn near burn the car to the ground. I'd go down the road cutting the engine off and on and hit the switch and whoom, like magic. Well one time the engine flooded and I forgot to kill the flame throwers and stopped dead in the street. Bad Idea! '63 Impala tail lights were getting pretty hard to find by the '80's, lol.

Btw, I built mine for about $5 out of parts I had laying around. I mounted an old HEI distributer to a board and mounted a 12 v. fan motor under it. I went to NAPA and got 4 spark plug fittings, (the kind that shield the plug if you're burning a lot of oil and fouling the plugs.) I took the chrome tips off and had the guy's in the metal shop at school weld them in. I then spliced together a bunch of long plug wires and got it all plugged in and wired up. It worked great and I never had to pull the choke or go to a big carb. I still had the old 2bbl on the 283. Of course I wasn't trying to shoot a 4 foot wide flame 40 foot long. I just thought it looked cool when the Merc. in Grease shot flames a foot or so as the guy pulled out.

Now that I'm over my little nostalgia fit I'm going to suggest you re-read beaners post. He put it like it is. And if you're going to do it to keep up with the guy's in the pics you posted, I think you need to find some more different to hang around with.

Yeah, do as I say not as I did. You're not the only 16 year old I'm saying that to alot these day's. Oh and if your avatar is the car in question, that's a nice looking little Ford.

Flames to me are about as cool as taking your $30000 harley and putting christmas tree lights (LED's) all around the engine. Actually scrap that, usually its the sportster that has them to try to look like he spent $30000 on it. Those guys bug the sht out of me escpecially when they blink. Its like saying "look at me, look at me, look at me"

But if you are 16 do it the way you want it and you will learn. At least he isn't asking about how to sup up his honda.
