Wondering if any has any ideas what it orig was for. It is a 3 speed, and 20160609_182157.jpg 20160609_182705.jpg 20160609_182406.jpg resembles an old Corvette shifter, but there are mounting differences.
(note that it has had 1 lever removed to use as a 2 speed)

  2. Looks like it would work on a hydro-matic. ;)

Most old shifters had removable mounting plates on them so they could be used on several transmissions.

That happens to be a "Stock" shifter for an early 3-speed Corvette...Mounted to 3 bosses on tailshaft hsn
My 57 looked exactly like that....could be bought at Chev dealers parts dept

That's what I thought too, but this has only 2 mounting holes, and has never been ground off or altered at the bottom. The lever is 12" long, and has no numbers at the bottom, other than a barely visible "N"

I only see one shift arm on that. I'll guess an early 'Vette powerglide.
