That idea of selling it on ebay as "Vintage Patinaed Gas" is fucking classic. Put it in a rust gas can for full authenticity and GUARANTEE someone will bite.
Ditto on burning it in the lawnmower. I drained the bike's tank into the mower yesterday. The mower's compression's so low, it'd prolly burn water...
Wouldn't worry about it too much man. It's kind of like not letting those last few drops of dirty oil drain when you are in a hurry... Just stop if you can tell something isn't right. Theoretically you could be running on a mix of gas from the station that includes drops from the first time it was filled up anyway! Unless they flush the damn things or something... Just my opinion... some wouldn't dare put that in their car.
Hahaha. That must have been a sight. Lucky there weren't any burried natural gas lines.... Thinking about all the snake oil fuel additives out there, it appears you could add anything that burns, up to a certain % to the fuel without the carbs or engine ever noticing. I would gradually mix it with fresh gas in my lawn mover. Spring is back!
I ran out of gas mowing once poured three bottles of rubbing alchol and a bottle of BOD body spray I ran fine to finish mowing.
...thin some used oil with it and use it on wood fence posts or the wood deck of a car trailer or wood pickup bed floor,...makes a good weather barrier.
Man just get rid of that shit!!! If it smells as horrid as the shit I pulled out of the tank of a barn vehicle sitting for 30 years. Although I will say it was kinda exotic, like a tangy deathy pancake syrup.
You could just be a responsible world citizen and dispose of it at the local hazmat recycling. Free, easy, safe, legal. I have no idea why someone would risk a 200 dollar tow bill plus the cost of un-fucking their cars fuel system by intentionally dumping bad gas into thier tank.
Update: -Works very well for scrubbing oil out of the driveway from my Edsel's transmission leak. -Even half gallon in my Expedition's 25 gallon gas tank made it run like shit. -Wicked weed killer. -Smells really bad; tastes even worse.
Depending on where you live, I'd just put it in a brand new gas can and leave it on the side of the house. I'm sure someone will help themselves to it soon enough.
Gas floats on water right? Why not take an old jerry can and fill it with 4 gallons of water and 1/2 gallon of gas and leave that out there? You know they'd dump the whole thing right into their tank. Sort of a smart-ass black and tan.
same problem...I have 10+ gallons or so, don't want to pour it out as everybody around here,me included, are on water wells..Will our local Pronto/Jiffy Lube dispose of old gas the same way they will take your old used oil? I'll call them and post the answer, also read the other two pages to see some ideas....
