Yeah the factory fuel filter for my GMC is on the framerail after the tank but before the pump, and it's a good size canister-style. On top of that I have a gl*** bowl Delco filter up by the carb. I think that should do the trick.

I don't think today's gas with ethanol in it would do the same.

Hmmm there's a huge eucalyptus tree on my sidewalk that the city won't let me cut down...:D

Several have suggested "burning it up" in a engine of some sort, but why not just burn it up? Some sort of fire pit, some logs or fire wood, add a little, let it soak into the wood and have a cheery campfire in the evening. Do this over the course of several weekends until the old nasty gas is used up. Just be VERY careful lighting it, and don't try to do several gallons at once. The resulting explosion and fire are not worth the time savings.

I have a fire pit in the backyard, will try that out.

I'm going to have to control my inner pyromaniac.

Reminds of back when I was a teen, I tried to do the "lighter/WD-40" thing with a can of starting fluid in my pop's garage. Singed the hairs on my arm and scared the piss outta me!
