Hot Rods Old Glasurit paint

  1. I don't think he is trying to match the exact colour from the magazine but the overall look (frame and body matching colour) from the magazine

    I don't mean to match the magazine as a paint chip. I mean I don't want to paint it black or another color only for the reason that I'd like it to match the magazine for display reasons.

    I have no idea. I don't know anything about paint. I got screwed on the paint job I traded a mustang for.

    Yeah originally when the guy painted the car and outer frame, ford red matched. So now the new paint that is chipping away matches exactly to the under side of the car "old paint". After reading all these helpful responses, I'm pretty sure the cans are the original color but the car just faded and ford red matched pretty well to the fade. Looks like I will stick to the ford red color when re painting so I don't have to paint undercarriage. Unless, you know, I somehow win the lottery and can afford to completely tear the body off and start fresh..
