I ran across this forum while surfing the web about two weeks ago. In that time, I have enjoyed looking thru the different areas of the forum and finely decided to join it also. My interest has always been in building things. Like most kids, I built and "kitbashed" the plastic models. Over the years, I've had a lot of cars and trucks come and go. In the mid 90's, I was president of "Hart City Street Rods" in Elkhart, Indiana for three years. I bought my first car for $300 when I was 12. I purchased it from a very good friend of my dad's and he said I could make payments as I could afford it ( took me 8 years to pay for it ) It was a 1925 Ford model T coupe. I drove it all over the back 40 for years. I still have the car and started making it into a "streetrod" in my spare time, about 15 years ago. The car has been in storage for the last 10 years. We moved to Michigan in 2000 and the "T" coupe is still at my son's place in southern Indiana. My other interest include: building "O"-scale model trains, antique crawlers & tractors and garden tractors. I also build or modify some of tools and equipment that I use in my garage. I have a 1945 John Deere Lindeman crawler ( modified ) and a 1949 Agricat crawler that we take to tractor shows. My "summertime" daily driver is a 1959 Chevy 1-ton dually flat bed truck. It is on a 1985 Chevy ch***is and has a 6.2 diesel. My current project is a 1925 Ford model T pickup. It has a "hotrod" model T 4-cylinder engine in it.
Welcome, from west Michigan. You plan on leaving the T for the son to do or is that coming to Michigan also?
My wife retires in two years and we are going to move down by my son ( and most of my projects ) We live about 20 miles south of Traverse City.
