So...an old guy Jim at the end of the street asks if I'll help him pick up some parts. Next thing you know we are on a trip to West Virginia with a couple trailers and ready to hunt. Jim has already set up the deal with Woody for some model T parts so we think we are prepared. I look in the garage and it's packed with T parts and others he is throwing in. Before we load up I ask if we can have a tour of the whole garage. He walks us around and out pops a Pierce Arrow. I know it's not HAMB material but this car is amazing. He tells stories of the model A's and 32 Fords that have come and gone and how a guy wanted to buy his 31 Chrysler but he wouldn't sell it after finding out the guy wanted to rod it. Woody doesn't have a problem with rodding only tearing up a nice complete driver. We still have to go back and pick up a couple more complete T ch***is but most of it is home. Jim knows where a ton of old cars are and loves hanging with the tear them up and rod them guys so if you get the chance help these guys all you can. When he asked what he owed me for helping I said how about selling me those headlights. He said here they are yours and gave my friend some parts also. Here are some pics.
I've never seen anything like this car. It amazes me how much work went into making this car. Thats the radio mounted on the column.
I know I've seen these taillights and interior light before searching for parts but didn't know they were Pierce Arrow. How about a cross ram intake for the kids boat?
I'm not a big Lincoln guy but here are the best pics I have of them. In the fifties I'd say and the interior on the one uncovered was excellent. I'll get more pics of them when I go back.
Those PR pieces are great. Slick stuff. That Cross ram looks like a 'vette cease-fire injection setup.
You know, old guys are just interesting to talk to. They lived in a time with a lot less restrictions and did some very interesting things usually with a lot of ingenuity and very little money. Mark
