  1. I have been here almost every day since I discovered it while searching if my Studebaker wheels might have a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Shared my finds, projects and barbs. Found out there’s nothing Anthony won’t drive, been to car shows around the world from the comfort of my living room, and marvel almost daily at the great resource it is.

I don't know about being "Old", I'm only 80, have all kinds of mechanical and plastic things in my heart, and both knees, joined here in '08, and just went to the "dark side", installed a LS3 in my '49 Caddy...

When I first joined this place, it was under a different name, 50dodge4x4. I started as a Grenade Inspector way back in the late 1990s. I was here through the reset in 2003. When my computer crashed in 2016, I couldn't remember the password for the old account, and the old truck was long gone, so I signed up under the current name.

As far as "old guys", that probably needs to be defined a bit better. I've been here a while, so that makes me old here. Some days I feel older then I do other days, but I do draw a SS check, so that means I'm not a spring chicken. There are guys here that have dates of birth that are 20+ years earlier then mine is, so considering that, I may not be so old after all. I could drop the names of some of the guys from the past, if I could remember them.

I do kind of agree with Highlander, all this talk about "old" kind of sucks. I want to do the things I did when I was younger, but then I remember how much that hurt the last time I was feeling young. Maybe a little slower pace would be good.

I feel that as I age, I have grown to become more wise. I did a lot of stupid stuff when I was younger, all those "learning experiences" I have acquired since then need to be shared while I can still remember them. I think I remember my dad telling me something like that years ago. I didn't listen much either.

  8. "Some parts are older than other parts." You may quote me. I give you author's permission.

Most of the tips, fixes, and know-how on this site come from the "old guys".
    Long may they last.
They will be missed if ever they should leave us.

This place changed my life for 20 years of all the special friends from around the world I have gathered here and it never would have happened without @Ryan and the HAMB.
I am 66 years of age this month.

I've been here since Dec 27, 2007, or a few months short of 20 years and would have been here a lot sooner if I had found the board sooner.
I'll say that the two of you do some fantastic wood graining that rivals what my friend Bob Hill who was a painter, pinstriper, wood grainer and better known out in the world as a military air craft artist who's drawings/painting of aircraft hang in some very noted places.

Sometimes it’s not about the impact you do or the participation. It’s what you take away from something, just my two cents. Not a dig or anything, I could do more myself but grateful to have this platform to grow from and learn from everyone.

    I've been here 23 years.

Back then most tri-5 Chevys had tweed upholstery, LeCarra steering wheel and billet or rallye wheels. My '55 had T&R, Cragar SS's, and a Grant metalflake steering wheel.

Relatively young at 17 years. I read the HAMB almost every day and contribute what I can. Been hanging around this planet for 78 years.

I've been here through the Hippo boat rescue, the Mexican porn shop, may cause dangerous, and watching everyone come together for Hambandy, still a lot going on here but not the same as it was. I lurked for several years and had to create another account in 2007, I think I first joined in 2001-02.

I've been here since May of 2007, but I "lurked" for several year before that. At 83, I am older than most here and have been "in and out" of the hobby several times. Had it not been for this forum's push for "traditional rods and customs", I'd still be "out".

Since I joined in 2014, I feel like I’m still in diapers compared to some others. And at 76 in a few days, still in reasonably good health for an old guy, although the passion level for my hot rods has dropped somewhat recently, I still visit nearly daily. I have learned a great deal about many things from those on here that are willing to share their knowledge and experiences. Very grateful for this forum and especially to @Ryan for putting up with us and all he does to keep the machine purring.
