This is one of those threads that you wonder how you would miss one with Don Montgomery posting original pics of hot rods along with the history ***ociated with them.....but I did. Just went thru it....really exceptional. As I browsed along though, I happened to notice that besides Don, there are five more Member Emeriti in this thread.....to damn many for one that was started in 2016. A shame for sure.
Think about another 10-15 more years......mind you when I p*** like the others I would ask that you remember the good times together here spreading the gospel and share a pic or story that you know would bring a smile...I miss them too... ...Here's one Don would like (maybe he took it) as he was obviously pretty open with what parted the way across the dusty miles of vast openness that was and still is the Dry Lakes... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...enized-hotrods.1002926/page-237#post-15008907 ...This is a Hamber's Avatar...I've reached out to him to find out if he knows more about it...no response...it happens...I figure if Rockerhead was still around he'd possibly have some info...I'm no scholar of such things but I'm not daft of it either but this is one of those elusive ones...is it the Chrisman Coupe in one of it's past liveries or just another in the mix of greatness? Anyone know of it? Hamber is @4woody....
Thurmond & Herzog coupe. There's a bit of info out there. Definitely not the Chrisman coupe, early or late. Mick
Thank's Mick... Is that the same Car? Did he have another one as while obviously the same team there are notable differences...possibly an earlier time, I will snoop around a bit now that you've nailed a very solid connection...
https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Dale_Sinner_and_Weston_****'s_1934_Ford ...@lurker mick...at Kustomrama that is identified as being the Dale Sinner and Weston **** Coupe...while these guys were all in the same CC they certainly collaborated with the Hotrods...on top of that I note Thurman on the side of the Coupe you shared...even though it's identified as owned by other members... History is sometime skewed and it's understandable...I do note it was shared by one of the racers son...
https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Robert_Herzog ...this is said to be the Thurman, Herzog Coupe...All that said they were all in the same CC... The names appearing on others cars seems to be aka collaboration and or sponsorship of sorts...buddies...
Great way to get them ole Hotrods backup...I've been trying to identify that tiny pic for quite while it does look to have 2 hoods siamesed together, a belly pan and may even be a 27 T... windshield is notably narrower and slanted back... Quite a good pic even if avatar size...I suspect they had other Hotrods that had not as much exposure...pretty notable graphic...very eagle like...
I just have the photos filed by the names on the cars. Seems to me if the car belonged to someone else, their name would be on the car, but hey what do I know. Mick
What do you know? A lot......I'm always thankful for your shared knowledge of the culture. I just went to Kustomrama on your provided info and read what was written about that club and their cars and am reporting what I found...not trying to belittle what you shared at all...in fact even though I think the car is different, it's in the same CC as that almost trademark paint is very telling... Perhaps this image below better explains why names are on the sides although here it is again sporting a different set of graphics reflecting sponsorship...What I was thinking is Thurman's name was there as he provided an engine at that time and he wasn't the only one via the list below... https://kustomrama.com/wiki/File:Bob_herzog.jpg ...and here is Bob Herzog, an engine provider standing beside a Coupe said to be owned by Senner and ****. Actually this is pretty organized stuff and going fast then wasn't cheap either hence the sponsors...mind you lots of these veterans had skills some picked up during wartime... ...I sized this up a bit...I see hinges on the doors fwd side Lakes style torque tube exhaust...The Names although blurry on the cowl could very well as suggested be a Thurman/Herzog collaboration in the Drag-Ons CC...
Mike his career revolved around that fancy Hotrod engine and all...it's covered extensively here in many threads...I won't guess or ***ume its a Flathead even though I've read the story, but I know the heads were special...a**** many things on that Hotrod...its mentioned in the first paragraph...Maxi heads on a flathead...there was a funny story on a bill Ed or his parents signed...a bit of forgery...all good though...just makes it even more interesting... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/la-cucaracha-isky-t-every-pic-ever.1083681/
https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...genized-hotrods.1002926/page-84#post-12829382 Quoted from the Homogenized Thread below... " @foolthrottle here's an interesting twist on the Maxi Heads which is what Everyone seems to refer them as...Well whilst snooping around, the Kustomrama story on Ed contains this pic a****st others which gets me thinking which is correct...Maxi or Maxy... Oh and a cool shot before the one piece Covers... in 1938 https://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=Ed_Iskenderian's_1924_Ford " Credit to Photographers, Owners ...that entry form is were the Eds Parents were to sign that form and thats were the story came from that he went way to get it signed and it happened very expeditiously...he won that race regardless...
This Thread is losing its heart, 1940s to mid 50s, Hambers...the Late Rockerheads color pics are 1953...The new show pics are a Hotrod from that era...later 50s, 60s and newer has no business here...lottsa Threads elsewhere for that...
Read this Thread Hambers...Respectfully this is about Traditional Hotrod and the Culture up until about the mid 50s. There is a huge difference... ...If Don was here you would know...I doubt he'd be appreciative the direction its taking...I'm all for carrying this legacy Thread on but be on topic...1938...to the Mid 50s... I've been sharing pics but they are pre mid 50s or older...I feel anyone who posts should read the Original posts and several pages to get a feel of what the Thread is speaking to. I don't believe that is happening. This Thread is Hamb Gold and we should respect that.

I agree with @Stogy, pics @Rockerhead posted were pre '55, plenty of other great threads to share later photos on. All photos '55 and earlier.
