I'm new on the H.A.M.B. I've looked it over for quite a while, and was pretty familiar with the range of posts. I read the "read this first". The "no profanity" and all that. I see nobody follows the rules, so I feel right at home. I'm new enough so that I've only pissed off a couple of you so far. Sorry. I'll get better. History: My "first car" was my dad's 1946 Jeep CJ2A. He owned it, but I sort of took it over. Flathead V8's in it first, (age 15) and then a 289. Then a 54 Chev 2dr HT. Buffalo poo orange and orangey cream Bel-Aire. Also a graduation from 6 to 8, shaved off the chrome. Learned to do body work (badly) and painting (pretty good.) Then I earned enough painting cars and a little illegal (ahem) street racing to buy a series of "cool" cars, one or two at a time for short periods. Too long a list. I like GOOD WORKMANSHIP in almost any car. Customs are okay if they drive. Hot Rods the same. Rat and non-traditional rods can show some real art, and I like that too. Currently I have a 1966 F100 which is my "Work Truck", and a 1951 F1 that is my work in progress. I build what I like, and am not usually a rule follower. Except for safety rules. Don't like: Chevy Engines in Fords. Crab-***es that ***ume everyone should be on THEIR trip. Slow drivers in the left lane.
'Sounds like you're into some cool stuff (except for the R#t-R*ds -- those are a no-no around here). 'Nothing wrong with a Chevy engine in a Ford, however it is so common that 'ya seen one, 'ya seen 'em all. Hot-rodding and customizing is all about mixing & matching parts/components, but some variety would be nice. I like to see almost anything under the hood of a Ford other than a mouse motor. I remember seeing a early '50s Chevy 5-window truck at a car show that was immaculate, and was pleasantly surprised to see a 351 Windsor nestled in the engine compartment...
