so after several years on trying to decide on a direction to go with my 1923 REO and gathering up funds. i think im ready to dive back into said project. my question is, it safe to use the original leaf springs? it has parrallel leafs in front and back. they look like they are in good condition. i hope this isnt a stupid question, but i want to build a safe car. guess i just kinda answered my question but would like to hear you opinions. thanks

I would be tempted to take them by a spring shop and have them check them out, especially if youre gonna run a hot motor in it and really drive the car hard from time to time. They will likely be able to build you exact replacements,as they have blueprints going back to the beginning of time.
Also, the cost will probably not be as bad as you think.
