Message him through conversation on this board,
He will then get an email to alert him to the message.
Most people check their emails regularly.

Guys don't send plates to anyone you don't personally know. Many of these are quite costly before you start restoration. Unless your in a real small town get the clean/sandblasted/paint remover or what ever. I base coated mine ( Calif 1956 yellow matched from a rattle can) and took them to pinstripper and had the black put on right in front of me. If your a car guy you always find a stripper at some kind of show. M/C gatherings are great for this too.

I've got no dog in this fight, but he's local to me, so I feel someone should help defend the guy. It sounds like he's at least trying to fix this situation, so give him that. He could continue to do nothing, but he somehow got wind of this forum, and the complaint.; Yes, it's been too long for most to look the other way, but who knows why? I think it's called, "the benefit of the doubt". NOW, if he does't come through, then rally the villagers, storm his castle, and burn it to the ground. JMO. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I have done some of this chasing work in the past for $$$ . Only to find out the people and very sick , near dead or just plain scammed you . Bottom line is education cost money in today's world , it's going to cost you more money to find and get your plate back . Maybe , better to just write it off and start fresh with another plate .

Bachelor of science? I doubt you have one. Who takes in work without info about the customer? Who ships something without info? Probably no one.

Hold on guys. We haven't heard from the original poster since this thread came back up. For all we know he got his plate back 3 years ago. I realize the vendor doesn't seem very customer friendly, but folks will see that when this thread comes up in a Google search. It doesn't mean he is a rip-off or does bad work. They can judge for themselves.

In this particular instance I think we need to hear from the OP in order to know what the current situation is and I don't think we should jump to conclusions. I know we're all tired of rip-off vendors and we like to back our guy in a fight, but there may be no fight here at all and I don't want to smear the reputation of an otherwise fine vendor. Frankly, I'm not seeing any other complaints about him on the web and I think we need to support businesses like this when we can.

Last post by the OP was 7/4/14. No recent activity. I believe the ship's done sailed...

Looks like he hasn't posted since 7/4/14, but he was logged in as recently as 4/12/16.

Maybe there's hope for successful resolution yet...

Well, we can all hope for a positive, peaceful resolution. The time frame's pretty funny. Steinsbu, you seem both kind of willing to pursue the OP's issue, yet really aggressive against anyone questioning the situation. That might be right, but it won't earn you any friends or customers, if you care. Guess we can only wait and see if the OP responds.

atch-just got back from a trip to Columbia. Seems like a nice "village". I'll have to check with you on the car scene next time. I sure do like that Thai food truck out at Cooper's landing.

Look me up the next time you're here.

"Village"??? Columbia is the largest place I've ever lived (I'm 64). And actually I moved 10 miles out in the country to get away from it. Sherry (my wife) is from Chicago. She's always ready at the drop of a hat to go visit anywhere that's larger than Columbia. She doesn't actually despise Columbia, but she sure wishes it was about 50 times larger than it is.

Was the little oriental girl there (at Cooper's Landing) calling your name to come up and get your dinner? The one who says something like "Shewwy, uur fooos is weddy" which when translated is "Sherry, your food is ready."

Anyway, getting the post back on track, here's hoping that resolution is found.

Being that all I had was a phone number, no payment, so I restored the pair and could never get a hold of the person.
